The long way to a small angry planet is one of those rare books where the plot is not important. It’s all about the relationships between the characters, about love, acceptance and diversity, about how it feels like to find your family and coming home. They’re not getting along on the ship ??? Where did you get this from ??? Check again 😏 I adore this book and no, it wasn’t me who sent it to you. But I’m so happy that someone else did.

From what I remember, Castle in the Air does feature cameos from Howl's Moving Castle! I think it's towards the end though. I definitely recommend Diana Wynne Jones' Chrestomanci series.
@ursula17163 жыл бұрын
For me, Castle in the Air by Diana Wynne Jone was the weakest in Howl's Moving Castle series, but the last book "House of Many Ways" is also very good. Another good book by the same author is "The Time of the Ghost" which has autobiographical elements in the story, if I remember correctly. Honestly, I've read like 16 books of Dianna Wynne Jones and all were at least 3 stars for me.

I just read Hour of the Star for uni. SO AMAZING. You'll love it. Have you read Pedro Paramo by Juan Rulfo? I studied One Hundred Years of Solitude recently (same course as Hour of the Star, Latin American lit), and it was mentioned that it was heavily inspired by Pedro Paramo. I read it, and it really did inform a lot of One Hundred Years and GGM's headspace when he wrote it. I think you'd find it interesting.
@brbaramoreira3 жыл бұрын
I hope you have a great time reading Hour of the star, it's just amazing, beautiful, and so sad hahaha. But it's the last Lispector's work before her death, and it's so intimate, Macabéa's story shows a lot about how brazilians seen themselfs, and how everything can change in a second. I wish you have a great experience and don't forget that, for now, it's strawberry season!
