Just a short clip of a bobbing Wren in the garden today, getting a bit impatient waiting for its mealworms.

Great capture! We see some Bewick’s Wrens around our house, but they are always in a hurry…

Thanks, its also one of my garden favorites, whenever I go out into the garden this one comes out from wherever it is for his mealworms. Maurice.

Thanks Neil, yes they have a very big ego for such a small bird. When I get a sparrow hawk in the garden all the other birds fall silent, the wren is the only one that continues to give its alarm call and sounds as though it scolding the sparrowhawk..

Attractive little bird -- Nice watching its movements. Guess that's how it got its name. Thank you for sharing.

Just spotted a couple of these wrens dancing around in my backyard and had to research their "bobbing" behavior! Glad I came across this clip :)

Excellent footage. Does the bobbing behaviour have a meaning? I notice that our robins sometimes do this too.

Thanks Steve, whenever I go out into the garden this particular wren always makes it's presence known to me so that I will give two or three live meal worms. On this occasion I was in my hide filming and I think this exaggerated bobbing was to make its presence very obvious to me and possibly a little bit of impatience because it wasn't getting its mealworms straight away.

I really enjoyed these short films .I am learning a lot. May I ask what are the worms 🐛 you are feeding to the birds. I have only bin able to get dried mealworms

Is that a Carolina Wren? Do you live in the American south?
