For people who are about to buy a first ball: You don't absolutely need to get a Storm Ice, for the most part, all plastic balls are the same. Other great options include the Brunswick T-Zone, Brunswick Crown Jewel, the polyester balls made by Roto grip and 900 Global etc. if you'd like to get a slightly more reactive ball for entry level bowlers, the Storm Tropical Surge, Storm Electrify, the Hustle line by Roto Grip, or the 900 Global Burner Pearl. There's plenty of options for all entry level bowlers alike and on top of that, all these balls are budget friendly :D . Best of luck to all the new bowlers out there!

I have the Storm Ice as well (12 lbs). I got it for hitting spares. I use two hands and also have a high rev rate. For some reason though, mine has a much stronger late hook and doesn't stay straight, even if I flatten out a bit. Does the lightness of the ball have something to do with this or is this drilling related? Thanks

Weight of the ball doesn't really contribute to the hook potential for all I know, and being a plastic ball it doesn't much where you drill it. Plastic balls should just go straighter, perhaps you might be rev dominant? It's always good to practice flattening out your hand for more forward roll and minimize hook. I do this. And I think Packy Hanrahan made a good video about spare shooting.

They layout when you had it drilled out may be a issue. I have a hammer I had drilled out for a spare ball and I can literally throw my 3.o straighter so I gave the spare hammer away and got the ICE and I love it. I went from 50% to 80%.

@@631strongislandkid Yeah if you want, all plastic balls are the same anyway. I just do videos for Storm exclusive bowling balls. I also find it mind boggling that KZbin would have you run into my older videos
