I've got the Master TC40T just like the one you shown, but went to Lowes and got a Kobalt Quiet Tech 26 Gallon stand up compressor and added a moisture trap and regulator and love love love it!! I can airbrush for what seems like forever before it kicks back on,and it's really quiet. I only paid a little over $300 for it.

Good video, should point out few things though as I went through similar learning problem. The single square part that both the cheaper compressors and the two on the big tank is the pistons. You want dual piston as they fill the tank faster and stay on less often. They typically don't get louder than a vacuum at about 60 DB. Don't get pancake compressors, they'll drive you mad with the sound. The biggest downside having a unit meant for tools is the gauge will be tricky to set for 15-25 PSI. Since those things are meant to go like 50 PSI or more, you can imagine you're only using 1/10th of the gauge - you'll want a digital reader. Trying to get the adapters to connect the air hose was also bit tricky since isn't just size but the tread type also.

Thanks man. I was curious on the decibel for the small tanks. I have a big shop air compressor in my garage, but not a lot of room out there to work at the moment (and winter is cold in the garage). So this helped me narrow down some choices for one that will fit inside somewhere.

Don't get the cheap compressor without a tank, the airflow is uneven and you're better off saving your money for almost any compressor that has a tank.

Don't agree! I've used one now for a year with no problems whatsoever! Great first start with the single tank! I'm only really upgrading to the sparmax with the tank because the shop beside me got the set 8n for 200 bucks with 2 airbrushs with it and a tank great for sparmax and my mum asked what I'd like for xmas and as I need nothing I just said to get that haha! But my single tank is perfect to this day! Wouldn't put anyone off getting one just buy a secondary airbrush end water trap for it!
@animalyze7120
@animalyze7120 3 жыл бұрын
@@EMTBonsai Agree or not, if you are running an Airbrush with no tank on the compressor you will have pulsation, no and's ifs or buts about it. Depending on how long you spray would be the deciding factor, little spurts back and forth and you'll have no issues. Press the trigger and hold, yeah it's gonna pulsate you can compensate but heck grab a tank add on kit for 30 dollars and upgrade it.

Love the suggestion for the California Air compressor. I would much rather have a tool that can be used for other things and pack more punch for my dollar. If you're in the states, Harbor Freight has an insanely great Fortress 1 gallon air compressor. Its more powerful , smaller, lighter and ESPECIALLY quieter while being cheaper than "name brand" kits with a tank. Only negative about it is that you'll need to get moisture trap and brass coupler to connect its 1/4" quick connect to a airbrush's 1/8

Does it makes sense to put the compressor in a different room, and run a hose to your paint booth? Hoses are cheap, and if want to adjust the pressure, you could mount a regulator to the edge of the table, and plug in your airbrush to that.

Pneumatic tools are way cheaper than electric or battery tools, too. I have one just like this California compressor but branded differently and mine seems a lot quieter. I've been trying to figure out what to buy to break into air brushing but I'm afraid theirs nothing cheap enough to go all in. This is a Harbor Freight situation right here.
