Lucius was one of my all-time favorite characters from the series. He's most definitely a bigot and as a Death Eater committed his fair share of crimes, but he was also one of the few who was redeemable because despite it all, he truly did love his wife and son. And once Voldemort targeted his family, he ensured Malfoy wouldn't follow him any more.

The Malfoys did associate with muggles in the beginning. His ancestor once tried to marry Queen Elizabeth Tudor and she rejected him, so he hexed her to never marry, and that's why in HPverse she's the strong virgin queen in history. The Death Eaters all thought Harry was gonna b Voldemort's successor cause of the prophecy "He will have powers the dark lord knows not". That was actually Harry's 'capability to love'. Love is "THE" most powerful force in the whole HPverse. I like to also think that The Malfoy testified against the Death Eaters and told what happened to Professor Charity Burbage. For the next brief or full vid I would like to ask for about religion in the wizarding world; JK even made 1 up of Jediism, based off of Star Wars and Dean Thomas is one of them.

Wasn't Anne Boleyn accused of witchcraft at one point? Queen Elizabeth Tudors mother? The reason i mention this is because in the hp universe Anne Boleyn is actually a witch. You can see a painting of her at one of the moving staircase sequence's. They added this because i do believe Anne Boleyn was actually accused of witchcraft in real life. But this could of been one of the reasons they asked for Elizabeth's hand since they thought Elizabeth could of been a witch too.

Nice video to start the day! One thing thats always bugged me is when in GOF Voldemort was mad about his followers not helping revive him, especially malfoy. But malfoy is the one who sent tom riddles diary (a horcrux) into Hogwarts. Even if Voldemorts form in GOF wouldn't have any idea this happened, malfoy sure as hell did. Why didnt he stick up for himself and possibly strengthen the loyalty to Voldemort and increase his ranking so to say.

I always felt it was ridiculous how in the second movie when Harry frees Dobby and Lucius starts to do the killing curse, I mean he was RIGHT outside Dumbledore's office. Even with his connections I doubt he would avoid the dementors kiss with that move.

At last movie Lucius got a grip of reality and what he had it coming he got scared and knowing that Draco have told him and that Harry have saved him in the way Lucius was like greatful that Harry have saved Draco and change his mind just by telling his wife to take Draco and herself away and he followed to runaway and changed himself it was a great change of life for him.

I want to know - When voldemort returned in the 4th movie, did he look different to how he looked before on the night he tried to kill harry? I have the impression that the Malfoys play some kind of important role in the wizarding world, and not only as politician. The Wizarding World is essencially a small population with a highly desirable gene, which makes walking a fine line between inbreeding and outbreeding quite delicate. What if the Purebloods kept the gene pool together while the Muggle Born insured it's healthy circulation. Also ex-persecuted states tend to veer to more or less dictatorial regimes, such as Israel (which was mostly formed thanks to the Jewish refugees of WW2), which is more on the mild side. While another exemple is Nazi Germany, which formed after the country was utterly humiliated and impoverished and served as a scape-goat for the first World War. Another thing is that discriminated against groups tend to be rather defensive, which is necessary and understandable, but at the same time make establishing public services in their communities extremely difficult (think the most dangerous Black neighborhoods of Baltimore). In more "traditional" urban societies (think pre-revolutionary France or England), ostracized groups tend to become quite dysfunctional, with rampant and unhidden incest and paraphilias (they exist in all social classes, but desensitized men who are not likely to suffer consequences for such behavior tend to be the main culprits), since they tend to become desensitized to any form of shame. Maybe the Malfoy's position of privileges' allowed them to have a more bird's eye view of society (which isn't always bad) and convince other pureblooded families to inspire more functional behavior, although themselves are vile intrigant.

You’re not wrong. They were. There are a lot of things I wished they’d kept or played out similarly in the books when they did the movies. In GoF…I still can’t get over Dumbledore’s out of character movie freak out when Harry is chosen as a champion. Every time I watch that scene, I think, “What the actual *bleep* was going through the director’s head? I also wonder if anyone on set said anything about it.

The Malfoys, despite at times seeming a bit too much like cartoon villains, were in the story to demonstrate how we fall to evil because of weakness. We want power because we're scared of powerlessness, so siding with those that have it may seem like a self-preserving choice.

Lucius Malfoy is the definition of all talk, all front and very little bite!! Apart from putting the diary in Ginny Weasley's bucket which almost brought back a young Tom Riddle back to life. He achieved very little as a Death Eater, and caused more harm than good for Voldemort and his minions. He failed at retrieving the prophecy, his son Draco would have failed to kill Dumbledore without Snape's assistance. He pretended to be under a curse to avoid going to Azkaban. Then he abandoned his supposed Lord and Saviour, when he needed him the most. Talk about being extremely disloyal to his supposed "messiah" of his pure blood supremacy cause. Lucius is one of those guys that would never get his hands dirty and go through a cause he believed in. Without more powerful people he believed in. He's a coward at heart with only redeeming factor his love for his son and wife.

for the most of lucious Malfoy he was a selfish, races, manipulitive, and charming as Voldemort was. there are examples that show this when he told the commity to execute buckbeek, when he pretended he was under the imperius curse, when he talked bad about the weasleys in front of Mr. Weasley. but but at the end he just wanted his family safe, another example of when he abandoned Voldemort and his fello death eaters in the battle of hogwarts in an effort to find his son Draco and his wife Narcissa did the same
