Brief my ass, this video is an hour long.
A “Brief” History of The Pokemon TCG from the Base Set through to Astral Radiance.
I've tried to make sure that everything is accurate, but let me know if I’ve got anything wrong.

I don't usually comment but this legitimately felt like video that would have several hundred thousand views or more. The algorithm better treat you well!

The production quality of this video is truly amazing...Just because I saw it mentioned in the comments a lot...maybe the low view count has something to do with the upload itself...I've tried watching it on my iPhone and TV multiple times and it kept freezing, even though I had a connection and all other videos were playing per usual....I finally ended up watching it on my laptop where it played fine...idk just thought of putting it out there

You deserve a hell lot more views for your work in these. Congratulations and you got a nobody (me) as a new subscriber. I was a pokemon fan since my childhood in 2000 era. Also an old pokemon tcg player that played in little localized shops back in my days. This video is a treasure 🥺 Your voice is also very energetic and beautiful.

I love hearing the stories of people that grew up with this kind of stuff. Such a unique but universal experience. Small world and all that.

@@ChuVsMe well then let's get into details. The first time that I went to the shop was with two friends. They were going there a lot, and I knew about this place from conversations. Anyway on my first day there I did a lot of trades, and when I got home I realized that half of the new cards that I had from trades, were gone. One in particular that stuck in my head and I regret it, was a beautiful Azumarill from new genesis, and an Erica's Venusaur. I was a very stupid kid back then. And I have to say that I totally deserved what happened to me. There were a bunch of kids in front of me and checking my cards, praising me and shit, and I was dumb enough to fall for that. I mean there were a bunch of kids in front of me checking my cards. What can possibly go wrong?! 😆

a very important bit of the basic rules you missed at the beginning is that the pokemon do a little handstand when they're confused

I've been a fan of Pokémon since my Primary School days (22 years ago) and I had no idea how the card games were officially played (we just made our own rules). Anyway, I'm going to go through all your videos as they make me nostalgic. Keep up the great work.

For the how to play segment, it is important nowadays to explain items, supporters, and stadiums. Another thing is deck size and amount of each card you're allowed. 60 card deck, 4 of anything, but basic energy is infinite. Other than those bits, perfect way to explain the Pokemon TCG. And my first point is invalid if you use only older cards. Side note, could you please sleeve your Venusaur?
@ChuVsMe
@ChuVsMe 2 жыл бұрын
Don’t worry, it’s usually sleeved these days. But it did roam free in the wild unsleeved for many years while I was young and naive.

@@ChuVsMe fair enough. I'm glad that I learned that around the late Sun and moon era-Vivid Voltage (Sword and Shield) Ive been into Pokemon for 11 years, and when I'm legal to drink, I'll have been a fan for 15 years during Pokemon's 30th anniversary. I haven't watched the video outside of the introduction yet, as I need to go to bed but I keep getting distracted lol. But this video and your 100% run of Pokemon blue are high quality for a channel in the triple digits.

We technically got ONE more Light Pokèmon after Neo Destiny, Light Toxtricity from the Sword and Sheild black star promos. But that was only released in English, Spanish, Portugese and a couple other languages and never saw a Japanese release.

Being a child in Brazil, a third world country where a Nintendo console costs three/four times the minimum salary, and play a Pokémon game or even pay for cable tv to watch Pokémon series may be realy tough (it was for me kkkkkk (kkkkk is the brazilian LMAO). But, TCG was different, its only a few packs or a deck! EVERYBODY (2011~2016) HAS A POKÉMON TCG DECK AND PLAYS A POKÉMON BATTLE! I really love TCG as a card game, but also as the POKÉMON REPRESENTATION IN FUCKED COUNTRIES!
