Jon Brion is a composer who has had an interesting life. From dropping out of high school to starting a band, and making music for many movies like Paranorman, Punch Drunk Love, and many more.

Jon, as a jr. high student you were experimenting in dubing yourself on all instruments and making a band of yourself playing all the instruments at once. You were also getting involved with writing music. you would bring some of the musical compositions to class and I would go over them and give you some ideas of changes. You were the most creative musician I ever had.I wish I could have helped you more. You were really something special then. You seem to have done great things with your life. I still have good memories of you. Mr Fortino Jr. high.

I can't believe I'm reading a comment who knew Jon Brion in high school... must've been amazing to teach. Props to you mister, he's one of my favourite composers to this day.

I found Jon thru Elliott smith, it blew my mind when i learned 20 years l8r he worked w/ Mac. The cherry on top is Mac has an absolutely beautiful cover of Angeles, so full circle sort of ;)

"Meaningless" is one of his best records (and in fact I like all of them) and no one knows that record. such a pity! :(
