I share some tips on choosing your first house along with handy online housing utilities and the easiest way to acquire some of the basic furnishings you'll want to use to decorate.

You're very welcome! I'm still loving the game, it really nails all the most important MMO features for me. Which are mostly around customization and housing. The game feels super healthy to me right now though.

Welcome to ESO! I was actually a big fan of FFXIV housing too. Sadly, I did not get any footage before I let my house fall though. I also didn't come back quick enough to reclaim my furnishings over there, so it's all gone for good.

Sorry to hear that. I, too, did lose a small house and my items before the lottery system was introduced. This is the sad part about FFXIV, stay subscribed or lose it all. I have learned more about ESO since I last commented. It's incredible how customizable the decorating can be. Expensive to furnish a house, but I'm thoroughly enjoying everything about this game, housing, the stories that come with the questing, etc. Fantastic game. :)

I do get overwhelmed by the big ones, but if I break them up into smaller spaces it helps. Earthtear is an excellent house though!

Thank you for the info. Thus far, I have only a single candle and the free armory in my inn room. The fact that The Elder Scrolls Online makes it difficult to furnish one's first home beyond that is not very encouraging for either the game's housing system or its overall friendliness to new players. I seem to be role-playing as someone who doesn't know much about how the world works.

I actually agree with that sentiment. It took me so long to get into housing because of that initial hurdle. That being said, there are budget-friendly options, they just aren't well documented. In general I'd say the devs struggle to align the value of items with effort to acquire. Maybe I should do some budget house design vids!

If you have a small home and what your home brighten up more you can check out guild stores as sometimes you can find really cheap hanging candles that has like four candles to it which makes your small home as bright as a 80watt light bulb gets when turned on I figured that out a week ago because I didn't like how you needed atleast 4 to more candles just to be able to see which takes up more space that could of been used for decorations.

I've learned if you want to brighten up a small house it be a good idea to invest into getting a shandler as I bought one for my dagger fall house and I had no need for no other lighting as one shandler light up your small home so bright you swear up and down you have a 80 watt lightbulb going.

Still no idea why they havnt added a fast travel mat type furnishing into the game like they did in FO4. so you can set a specific spot to spawn on when you fast travel to your House

That is a very cool idea. There are a number of houses I like, but I don't want to navigate through a bunch of hallways and tunnels to get to the spot I want to design.

It's on the north end of Rimmen, near the house furnishing merchant.
