A brief overview of the various Golden Dalek Emperors

There have been several distinct incarnations of the bulbous, golden Dalek Emperor from the original Dalek comics - but what's the story behind these different versions of the distinctive, spherical-shaped Dalek leader? In this video, we are going to try and find out!

The emperor Dalek (Evil) is the Dalek that originally exterminated Davros at the end of Ep.6 of Genesis.

There's a slight mistake you made for Liberation of the Daleks, it was actually the Doctor who summoned the other Dalek leaders to go up against the Golden Emperor

I hope RTD brings the Gold Emperor travel machine to the new Doctor Who Series. But I wonder if that copyright is held by the Terry Nation Estate or not. I am currently making my own Scale model build of the Gold emperor and have merged about three versions of appearance in it. It was that differing appearance that hooked me; the depiction varies so much; it makes you wonder if it is one Dalek or a number of select Daleks; possibly taken from the ranks of the Dalek Supremes... Whatever; the striking appearance alone should warrant a on screen appearance. In all the variations; the number of dome lights also varies from between three to up to eight... I've chosen five for my build. And hope to make them flash and be powered by a rechargeable battery.. Wish me luck.

0:18 I'll need to rewatch some of your videos to get more info about this but my current head canon is that - regardless of if they're both Dalek Prime or if there were several that took the title of Emperor - the Dalek Emperor chose to alter their casing over time in response to changes in the Dalek Empire. Eg: Initially, the Daleks believed that all Dalek leaders should be capable of participating in their conflicts personally/directly which led to the Dalek Prime creating the original Gold Emperor casing but eventually reached the belief that the Emperor should remain on Skaro to oversee the entire Dalek Empire which led to the static casing seen in Evil of the Daleks (and Parting of the Ways if the casing design existed before the Dalek Emperor was resurrected in the Time War), then the Dalek Emperor from 'DALEKS!' desired to maintain a presence within individual campaigns and therefore chose to either augment its existing casing with elements from the Gold Emperor design or simply ordered a replica to be constructed. Alternatively (and given certain elements of this video, more likely), perhaps the Gold Emperor casing was viewed as a 'field operations' type casing and the Dalek mutant that held the title of Emperor used it whenever it needed to go to other locations in the Galaxy or board Dalek ships and remained in its larger, static casing whenever in its chambers on Skaro.

I've always loved the Golden Emperor Dalek. It would be great if it appeared onscreen in 'Doctor Who' someday. ❤ Despite the conflicting accounts, I tend to hold the theory that the various Emperors depicted up to 'Parting of the Ways' are the same one. After that, any other Emperors would have to be different individuals, since Rose Tyler definitely destroyed the original in 2005.

I love The 3 dalek emperors, The part of ways wich is my favorite, The 1967 dalek emperor and even Golden emperor, they my favorite, I love The Golden dalek

I figure that the Dalek Emperor(s) can just switch casings. The one welded to the floor is the equivalent of a throne and the golden globe Dalek is a mobile suit when it needs to be in the thick of it

and now heres my origin. i am a clone of dalek prime and have essentially been emperor of the daleks ever since davros failed to destroy the doctor in the magicians apprentice. i have once again modelled my casing from emperors of old specifcially the restoration emperor. however i coated myself in black forged in the heart of a metallert volcano. and redubbed my empire as the resurgence empire. i have also given the name of my imperial status as the black emperor the dark lord of skaro.

I've got a question, so in Remembrance of the daleks when an imperial dalek is flying up the stairs to kill the 7th doctor, we briefly see the dalek's overlay pov, and at the bottom and corner top on the screen there's the symbols that are constantly shifting. Is it an old dalek Language, or is it just a bunch of symbols that represents the daleks.

In my head canon the golden emperor from doctor who magazine is the evil or the daleks emperor yet there is a chance he could have forgotten davros since up to the 26th century space wars the daleks hadn’t encountered davros and the emperor may have learnt of him in the space between this and the movellan war
