Few observations from this video; 1) Yes, lots of people around the UK refer to ketchup as "red sauce" or failing that tomato sauce. Ketchup is a relatively recent adoption to the language thanks to American TV & cinema. 2) Similarly, coffee is actually becoming very popular in the UK as the breakfast drink of choice, and may soon overtake tea as a preference. I tend to opt for a coffee when I want a caffeine boost, and a cup of tea if I'm just relaxing. 3) I mean, tea is very literally just flavoured water. All tea. The only real difference is the British adding milk to our "breakfast tea". 4) I'm imagining with the US breakfast option it would be more like someone would make a coffee run first thing in the morning and turn up to work with say, four coffees(?) and a box of donuts to share? Rather than eating that much each. 5) Is it just me or did they both kind of get each other stereotypical "drunk food" for lunch? Though somehow, weirdly, Taco Bell feels more appropriate as a lunchtime meal. Perhaps tacos in general, rather than "the Bell" specifically (we've all heard the horror stories)! 6) Eeesh! A vindaloo and no rice! You poor soul.

@@Ana-ro5wj Since you've asked, I'm assuming you live nowhere near the UK, so I'll try to explain thoroughly but apologies if I sound patronising or anything. Brown sauce is hard to explain, and can't be called a basic "tomato ketchup"-similar name since the ingredients are very varied and complicated. Brown sauce has been around for a long time. I believe it was invented by British people who probably tried to replicate sauces that were sampled in India or things brought back from India during the times of the British Raj (but I may be wrong or the timings may be off). Regardless it's a British creation using many spices and ingredients that were sourced from the travels that British people went on back in the day. I highly reccomend you try it. As an Indian and as a Brit, brown sauce is nothing too similar to tamarind sauces but both are delicious. Brown sauce is spicy and tangy and in the UK it's paired with pork products. With bacon or with sausages as part of a full English breakfast or in a breakfast roll (roll, bun, cob, bap, whatever local word you prefer, based on where you live). My favourite brand of brown sauce is HP, I'm sure you can find some on Amazon or somewhere online, wherever you might be. I don't know a huge amount of cultural or cuisine-related history since I'm not that old, so I could be wrong about some things (happy to be corrected!) I am a very ignorant Brit, I have no idea what ranch dressing is that the Americans talk about. So it's perfectly understandable that people don't know what brown sauce is.

Glad I’m not the only one who was outraged by the fact that Jeff ate the curry on its own without rice, naan, or even poppadoms! Especially vindaloo, you need more rice than curry while eating them haha. I do feel a tikka masala would have been better, seeing as it’s the nations favourite curry or whatever 😂 At least he didn’t get a bacon sandwich from McDonalds though- I had one years ago because my dad and sister loved them, but it was grim 🤢

Yep, I would choose the ring glazed donut too, simply because you can actually dip it in your tea/coffee without ruining the flavour. And for 4:35 we drink boiling hot tea because overall UK is a cold country and usually when people leave work in the morning, is when it’s the coldest time of day, so you need something really hot to warm you up. That, and obviously we have good taste in beverage choices 😝😝

Well today here in Michigan it’s like -10 degrees Fahrenheit with windchill yet I still could not drink a super hot drink without burning my tongue. I don’t think he meant necessarily that brits drink hot drinks I think he just meant people in general because I hate how hot drinks are here in america too lol

Lol the crunchy tacos from taco bell break a lot and fall apart. I usually end up eating the parts that fell onto the wrapper with a fork. The soft tacos are easier to eat and less messy. *edit* as a ranch fanatic, yes we use ranch on salads but also a lot of other things as well. It's amazing on sandwiches, salad, pizza, as a dip for appetizers etc. My favorite is a chicken bacon ranch pizza or sandwich. it's just a delicious combination.

I'm a chef for a high end catering company and for our events of 300 to 500 send twice as much ranch as the other dressings. We hand make all of our vinaigrette both white a and red (I'm chef de cuisine) and create and adapt my experience to our recipes. This video I will share with others

I’m Canadian but can tell you that Ranch dressing started as a salad dressing but became a dipping sauce later for many things as well. Vegetables, Pizza, chicken fingers/nuggets, wings etc. People use it as a sauce in wraps too. I prefer others and don’t eat it often(I prefer spicy so would do a Cajun/southwestern ranch instead) but as he said, it’s an all around American/Canadian flavour available almost everywhere.
@catherinetodd51633 жыл бұрын
@the super family ost Yes very versatile. Those are good ideas too. I have added taco seasoning or chilli powder to it and used it on tacos My Aunt uses it in her macaroni salad though I haven’t tried it that way. 😊

Tom, you have to do the hot sauce and then dip it in ranch! I feel like that may have blown your mind! ☺️🤯

Ranch is a salad dressing and, yes, we do put it on salads sometimes. BUT, somewhere along the way... over the past maybe 30 years, people in the U.S. started using it as a dip. First vegetables... then wings... now people will even put it on stuff like pizza. It's crazy how it's become a staple condiment here. Some of that could have been marketing by the Hidden Valley Ranch brand. They really pushed the idea of using it for other things.
