I remember the sweet summer days when I would giggle to myself thinking his crew mate misspelled it and i could picture ace looking down and realising he did an ‘s’. Ace screaming ‘Bagar!’ cut to next scene, it’s crossed out and he is finishing the tattoo with a big bump on his forehead and Ace just laughing and joking around…. no. I was So wrong ☝️😭

However, since you brought him up, I'll say this: I don't enjoy reaction channels that feature heavily exaggerated shticks (like knocking down chairs or pretending to leave the room or making my eardrums bleed). I recognize that everyone responds to media differently, but some of that stuff feels fake and intentional. Unless I'm mistaken, his channel has a history of doing that. I rememeber my wife used to think that One Piece was geared towards children. Cant blame her. She only saw commercials of the 4 kids dub. She got me into AoT, her fave anime. She wanted to try and watch my favorite, which was one piece. So one days she was like lets watch OP. I was like are you sure? Its a long show. She said yes so off we went. She kinda found it so so when it started. But by the time we got to the moment in namis story she was hooked. By the time qe got to Merry she was like ive never had as many emotions watching an anime as ive had with OP. She was like im crying over a boat for gods sake. OP became her favorite anime.

Personally, I love that One Piece can make me cry whenever I watch it. I used to have issues with crying normally when I was younger, to the point I had some actual problems mentally when no matter what I did, I *couldn't* cry. But, I've been able to work around that as an adult and being able to bawl has been really uplifting whenever I watch this show. X3

Luffy's full backstory with Ace and Sabo just fleshes him out to such a degree that I never realized about him: his greatest fear in life is being alone. Losing Sabo, and now Ace just really sucks, but I now wonder not only if Luffy recruited his crew not only because he cares but that deep down, he's partially driven by this insecurity. I love Luffy for how straightforward he is, but this added SO many more layers in a way that made him my favorite shonen protagonist

The force of a regular tiger's paw swipe is around 4535 kg or 10000 lbs. Ace and Sabo surviving a swipe from a tiger that's 4-5 times bigger than a regular tiger, is madness. One Piece characters are built different.

We've actually seen Luffy punch The Lord of the Coast (the Sea Monster that ate Shanks' arm) and get revenge, but it's only in the 1st anime opening if you look at it closely.

Even though this flashback was about 14 years ago, current events in the Middle-East kinda match this. The way certain humans can justify the slaughter of thousands because they weren't born into the "right" culture, class, country. It's an old story about how the evils in society manifest time and time again... but One Piece is brilliant for how it lays it out into this world of colorful pirates and their goofy adventures. And Curly Dadan is an all-star! Poor Sabo too. Also in all the best ways you always reminded me of Curly Dadan. If they ever get there in Live Action, you should play Luffy's Mom!
