Just curious but why wont there be that much traffic there anymore?

@@melvin0833 coal plants are converting to natural gas. Alma dairyland and KCPLs sibly plant are examples of powerplants that were closed. over time solar panels and wind energy are replacing it. the peak year of the basin was 2005 - 2008 and it has never reached that again.

Wow!! You got some absolute gold! Countless meets, excellent weather, and professional class videography. Kudos! If I may ask, where specifically is this location? I’ve not been able to find it on a map. South of Gillette as all I’ve determined.

North on Rt 59 from Bill, then into Thunder Basin Grasslands on, I think, USFS 942. A lot less traffic these days.

Thank you so very much for this video. I had lunch watching it. I was wondering how many cars on the coal train? There was Pom train that was working really hard thought it would stall. In closing thank you this video

That's a whole lot of carbon footprint.

Thanks to the Left’s war on coal, these shots are near impossible now. Main #4 is now used for storage, and they’re actually running manifest and intermodal trains on that line now due to lack of coal trains. Unheard of a decade ago! Sad sight.

I retired from the video business 10 years ago, so before that, probably 2010-ish.

pity they are not electrified. In Sweden all trains are electric via cabel

The coal trains go to a variety of different power stations. The USA is vastly, vastly larger than Sweden.
