This video is perfection. Thanks so much for the reality check. Balance of food, fun, and love is living, no one is getting out of here alive.

Thank you Denise for telling us to be ourselves...and responsible for ourselves. We used to call this common sense. ONE size DOES NOT FIT ALL..DIET has become a . 4-letter curse word because we are brain washed to having to look perfect...Well I am learning that good health and happiness go together. THATS my goal in life now at 79. Live long and prosper Friend❤😊

Truer words have never been spoken. Stick to your guns Denise and eat how you are comfortable and please don’t listen to others views of what YOU should be doing. You know your body and what you require. Love your ❤ blogs…keep smiling!!

Thanks Terri. I do overstep sometimes but I will always try to tell it like it is. It's a wonderful sunny day today and I'm feeling lazy. Yahoo!

Important words of wisdom, Denise. We ate somewhat similarly when we were growing up ... although thank goodness, my Mom didn't like liver so I never had to experience that. Mom was a good cook which was great for us. She did love her veggies. About the only things she ever made that I didn't like was baked squash and macaroni with stewed tomatoes. I enjoy squash now, but that second combination still gives me the creeps ... too slimy--it turned me off stewed tomatoes permanently. My diet is pretty heavily plant based so I would not be a willing candidate for keto. I like my fruits and veggies too much.

my son came over yesterday with freshly picked Asparagus from his garden. I ate it raw. So tender and it didn't even need salt. Hope your week is a good one, Ann.

@@travelsinmychair4140 Fresh asparagus! Sounds scrumptious! I'm gearing up for my first cataract surgery tomorrow. I'm actually looking forward to it since lately my distance vision has become very blurry. Second surgery scheduled two weeks after that. With the replacement lenses I chose, I should be able to ditch my glasses once and for all.

Hi from England 🇬🇧 I totally understand your train of thought. We had the same as you growing up; seasonal fruit and veg. Roast dinners on Sundays and a balanced, smaller portioned diet throughout the week. Lots of fruit for snacks and sweets (small chocolate bar or some penny treats)on a Friday. Now food is processed and has lots of hidden salt and sugar. I try to buy smaller lean cuts of meat from the local butchers. Everything is so big and fast food and sugared beverages are ruining our health. I’ve struggle with my weight since my late 30s and now have diabetes, fibromyalgia and angina. I gave up smoking and I find it hard to exercise because of my body pain.m and am in meditations for the rest of my life. And you are so right …. I need to go back to smaller portions and eat a balanced diet.. it’s going to be hard for could never do a carnivore meat and I’m sure I heard somewhere that our our bodies don’t digest it very well.

Hi Emma-Rose. Love England the home of my birth and I get all mushy just thinking about it. All we can do is be as healthy as we can be to make us happy and you know how hard that is! We women never learn to be content with our bodies. Sigh. Have a wonderful week and thanks so much for watching.

Where are the vitamins and anti-oxidants in meat?? It doesn't seem balanced to me at all. I agree with you.
@travelsinmychair414018 күн бұрын
thanks Opie. I don't enjoy meat as a rule but having said that, we are having Lamb for dinner and a little bit goes a long way, coupled with a salad and broccoli and a tiny roast potato. Yum...

Well the carnivore diet is really an elimination diet. No carbs at all. Main thing is that your body will run on ketones not glucose. Which means you have to eat a lot of saturated fat, including lard, tallow, butter and the fatc that comes with the meat, like ribeye, chuck, bacon etc. So no it's not just meat, salt and water. It's high fat, medium protein, no carbs. Plus you must watch your electrolytes. I prefer keto. The same as carnivore but you can add 10 to 20 grams of carbs, like certain green veggies and berries etc. I felt good on it. Ketones were good. But once you come off it. Weight comes back again. Love your stories and hearing the ups and downs of weight loss etc.

What kind of breast cancer did you have, if you don't mind me asking?
@travelsinmychair4140Ай бұрын
HER positive (I think it's called). I was put on Letrozole immediately to lower my estrogen and then a mastectomy. That was in 2007 and all was good until summer 2021 and now it's gone into my bones. I am back on Letrozole and another drug called Palboclibib and I'm holding my one for now.

Hi Denise. I am sorry to hear that your cancer returned. I am working on 22 years plus with my BC. Its been 8 years since my last surgeries and Stage 3 diagnosis. Have you checked out the Ketogenic Woman channel? Anita has some good carnivore recipes that might be worth studying. All the best.

To much sugar is bad for the body

we all know it but sometimes it is hard to ignore those cravings. Just last night, I had to have a stick of black licorice. I mean, I HAD to. Then only stop at one. Grrr.
