Great job! This story is awesome! Algernon Blackwood's stories are truly splendid. I have been hookedbsince reading "The Willows". The description of Jim Shorthouse at the beginning is hilarious. Sounds like quite the "poor soul". Keep up the great work! Thanks for bringing us these stories from this fantastic author.

I somehow missed this video when it was new, but I'm so glad I found it now! This is a genuinely spooky story. Blackwood was a great author, and the narrator perfectly brings his writing to life.

I really like Algernon Blackwood. Every time one of his stories comes up on HB I'm very excited for a good tale. I love this kind of horror. You never get to see the evil and the horror is what's happening in the main characters head. It's nice because you get to use your imagination and really imurse yourself in the story. Great reading as always! Top notch. Cheers!

Can you imagine if this happened in a more modern time, the neighbors had a tv or something and just turned it up louder everytime he coughs and hits the door? 😂😂

To be fair to the story, it’s a fairly accurate review of American hotel experiences. To be fair to America, we will serve you anything in the morning except beans on toast.

I've lived in an old house (like house of the 7 gables) whose rooms were converted to apartments in Rhode Island. I always wondered what happened and whose souls were still around there.

Thank you Ian it’s the Blavatsky story I was looking for. I thought maybe someone was objecting to her theosophy thing she and Eliphas Levi came up with. By the way is there a plan to do John W.Campbells Who Goes There? The basis of The Thing films? That could be a super production

Great - I'm glad we managed to sort that out. We can't do that one unfortunately, Edward - it's under copyright.
