Austin Aries probably has one of the most depressing careers in wrestling, he is an excellent in ring performer, probably in the Top 10 when it comes down to pure wrestling skill. He is on par with the likes of AJ Styles I would even say when it comes to bell to bell action, someone destined to be a star and a massive fan favourite to those who live that Indy Style of wrestling. Too bad he decided to self destruct any chance he had by being probably one of the biggest douches in the wrestling industry...

What do you think people are gonna talk about most, Cena vs Randy or Austin Aries defending the IC title in a chicken suit and Elimination chamber? I have never seen the IC title be the highlight of a show. The world title is great but give more attention to other titles too! Tho I will say Vince repackaging Aries as an 80s rocker was a little too much tho. I don’t know if Cena had a cold or there was something wrong with the mics cause that wasn’t Cena. In fact it kinda made me think we were seeing a stunt double or something but Cena would never ditch the WWE and let someone else do the work for him, right? *Wink*

You make it sound like he'd have made any real significant changes to how those belts are ever used in WWE, here's a spoiler: It doesn't matter whom is placed in the US or IC title divisions (divisions PFFFT) those belts are the modern day equivalents of the European championship (third tier titles) and will always be treated as afterthought championships with the only signifigance to them being the history before 2001 ever mattering to the company. As good as Aries was, he wouldn't have made any impact to those belts.

That shit pissed me off so much. Especially cause he was able to use the EC3 name so it made it more special for me and lots of others. Then he was used decently in nxt, but then horribly on the main roster. Just so sad that they had a gem who was main event worthy that could do anything, hell, could even get over as a baby face as we saw in tna, and then he still wasn’t used right. Just so bad. I know he’s loyal to ROH now tho, but I would love to see him in aew soon. I do hope ROH and aew do a thing like with impact and aew where they’re able to share talent and build storylines in both companies, except this time it can be thru 3 companies or technically 4 with NJPW.

TJP's move is called the Detonation Kick. Do Killer Kross's Impact run. I still want Mia Yim's Impact run, but I have a question. Do Impact's PPV specials like Joker's Wild and Knockouts Knockdown, which have no effect connection to the main show count? Does this also go for Xplosion, which only aired in international markets?

This really sums up the cruiserweight reboot in WWE. The wrestling is solid but not special like it was back in WCW, it felt completely disconnected from the rest of the show, and the crowd could not be fucked to make any noise whatsoever. These guys were only over during the CWC with that NXT crowd

Smart move Hawk, to add the pre show Mania match. It should have been on the main card! I understand why they had to drop it, but the belt doesn't even exist, on the main roster anymore, so it is a slap in the face. Murphy vs Nese is my favorite cruiserweight Mania match.

Aries is a tremendous worker. Unfortunately, he was shackled by having to work the “WWE style”. These matches were good but not great because he never got a chance to do what he was capable of. His indie and TNA work was much better.

The pendulum elbow looks like a real life WWE 2K glitch come to life. Also, usual WWE selling of an injury: sell the hurt limb until you need to get your shit in with the injured limb magically healing, but remember to sell it again after you get your shit in because ring psychology

long comment incoming but ill say that i lost it when the hawk called Neville (now PAC) Drew Mcintyre Jr. Oh my Marky actually did it! Watching “modern WWE” and Austin Aries’ WWE Run both at the same time. And we all got to see “modern WWE”’s main issue of repetitive booking at its worst here. I knew that letting Marky watch “modern WWE” would be infuriating to him but i liked that you also pointed out that Austin Aries should have already been duking it out with WWE’s main stars and not just limited to the cruiserweights.

I was quite a bit excited when he signed with WWE at first. Then I saw his Takeover match with Baron Corbin and immediately felt something was off, and Corbin wasn't responsible. Aries probably should have remained in NXT longer, might have helped him in the long run but the fact he left NXT so early and the brand didn't suffer at all from him leaving tells you all you need to know about how valuable he was to the company.
