I'm not a vegan (just cutting as much as i can on animal products) but I find it odd how non vegans criticise vegan parents so much, when probably they know very little about what it means to raise a child vegan. Also, minding one's business costs nothing. Love your channel, thank you for all the great recipes and food inspiration over the years. I learned so much.

The "be kind" generation is some of the most hateful people I've ever witnessed. I cannot believe that they attack YOUR content. I've been following you for over 7 years at this point and you have always came across as sweet. You're the main reason I had to visit Vietnam after having so many wonderful dishes made by using your recipes. You contribute more positive things than bad so do not allow these people to drag you down ever. Hopefully they grow out of the bullying and learn actual kindness instead.

you are so correct about tiktok being anti-vegan add to that the snippy short comments, calling everyone and everything abusive and toxic and it becomes super hateful super fast. It so often their dogpiling has nothing to do with the video but rather their hatred of vegans in general. I'm really sorry you went through that

I think it's so important that you brought up social media and the toxicity around it, I too feel the same. People are so judgemental, when in reality, they should be putting in the time to evaluate themselves and their own lives, how people choose to live their lives is no one's business, and I dislike that people choose to be judgemental and critical of others, you made the right choice Lisa, all social media platforms are toxic and are becoming worse. Thank you for the delicious content 🙂 and your honesty and transparency. More people should talk about this. 💜

I came for a chatty food video, and I stayed for the honest and frank discussion. I really, really appreciate you sharing these things with your audience as they're important. I've spent the last year setting and reinforcing healthier boundaries including on social media, too - however I can't imagine having the level of social media attention and people "coming for you" that you have to deal with on a daily basis as a creator.
@kzzinsky2 жыл бұрын
There will always be people who choose to deliberately misunderstand you, because they've made a prior emotional decision about whatever it is you're talking about and don't *want* to see it differently. I cannot imagine how hard it is to navigate and absorb that as a creator, open to literally anyone who cares to look - but I'm so glad that you do. I love your content and whatever you choose to share - I'm enjoying vicarious parenthood, and honestly by extension learning more about how to be a better person (always found tiny humans difficult to negotiate...)

Tiktok is a new breed. For the most part people have more sense on KZbin. I totally feel you on the vegan partner comments. I went vegan first. My fiancé did express an interest in veganism before I switched but it took him longer. I still cooked meat for him at the beginning. But then I told him if he wants to eat meat he has to buy it and cook it himself. That really annoyed my family. Then when the pandemic hit he went vegan. He said it would just be easier since we were both home and we could just eat the same food. I’m three years in and he’s a 2.5 years and we still get comments that I forced him into it. Also we have a son we get the occasional “awww he will never be able to eat …”. It does confuse me that people think it’s controlling for a parent to make a child eat a vegan diet when literally parents decide what children eat everyday.
@muriel68432 жыл бұрын
Miss your videos on here, but totally respect that your priorities are different now. Glad to see a new one either way! It’s also wild to me how people only ever throw out the “you’re forcing your diet/lifestyle onto your baby, let them choose” accusation when someone’s vegan. As though non vegans aren’t doing the same damn thing. People are just feeding their kids what they think is best for them, but vegans are the ones who are demonized. 😒
@Kleigh84842 жыл бұрын
Its crazy to me that people think that your food and values re veganism determine who you are as a person in is entirety. I think it says way more about them then it does about you. Love your videos, keep doing and being you.

You're doing great and Beanie always sounds happy in the background. ❤️❤️
@headspacedeficit2 жыл бұрын
I really admire you for setting your boundaries. It's one of those skills that need a lot of practice. As far as letting Beanie choose if they want to be vegan, I'm kinda under the impression that the kid is at that age where they'll stick anything in their mouth, food or not. Like, probably not a great parenting strategy to let them do that unrestricted.

I find it funny (or stupid) that meat eaters (not all of them!) don't want to be judged for eating meat but don't hesitate to insult vegans for being vegan. Once I had a discussion with a guy who flew from the USA to Africa to hunt animals (I really don't remember if it was elephants or lions or whatever) and his explanation for doing so was "to feed his family". That's ridiculous! I don't know him or his family or more than five Americans in person but I'm pretty sure, non of them had lion steak for dinner in the past 30 years. To finally come to an end: I love all your recipes and videos!

It really made me quite emotional to hear how those awful comments got to you like that because I know I would feel the same way in your position. Putting yourself (and your family) on a social media platform really takes a lot of courage and thick skin to withstand the unfair judgement flung your way and it's really inspiring to know you consistently set and reevaluate your boundaries to suit your needs. I'm happy to hear you've put the negativity behind you and are moving forward with your content in a way that makes you feel good about your audience, your work and yourself. You are by far, my absolute favourite vegan content creator and have been for years and I would hate to know some brainless commenters pushed you away from continuing to create the fantastic content you consistently put out. Also, for what it's worth, I really do appreciate hearing about your journey with Eddie becoming vegan and raising a vegan child as it helps me gain some perspective on my own life with a non vegan partner.
