This movie does the best job at taking you into the 1940s. It's perfect. The Dad played the consummate 1940's blue collar dad. I don't know why the Chinese restaurant scene would be offensive. Those guys weren't in any way portrayed as inferior. They were shown as nice people trying to help out, just with a language barrier that was funny. There is no equivalent "L" sound in Mandarin so it's easier to use the "R" sound if they have to do it quickly. Here's a joke that starts off dumb, but ends funny. "What do you call a one legged woman? Eileen." "What do you call a Chinese, one legged woman? Irene." 😂 Merry Christmas! ⛄🎄🎀

I had a Chinese foreman once that told me when I was an young apprentice. "Rob....Ro and fretch me the Rannel Rocks! (Channel Locks) 🤣🤣🤣 I almost pissed myself laughing! Guy was very very smart. He was all into the whole smart applet Java based industrial stuff like remote around the world light switches, motor controls, heating controls and computers long before that stuff even broke in the early 2000s but man did it piss him off when people laughed at his "Engrish" 😅

A behind-the-scenes video showed that it’s his real tongue. They drilled a hole in the flagpole, ran an air hose down to a small air pump off camera that created the suction so they used his real tongue.

Hey Liz I'm really glad you liked this, it's an absolute classic!!! Ralphie is a big movie producer today, works a lot with Vince Vaughn and John Favreau!!! You're right some candy ass fuck would blow a gasket about the Chinese restaurant scene, not a Chinese person mind you, but a privileged white college student!!! You should also look up the story about the U.S. Navy sailor that loved the movie so much he bought the house and made it just like it is in the movie on the inside!!! If you ever come to Cleveland you can visit the house and the surrounding houses that they turned into museums and gift shops. Then you can take a little trip to medina ohio and go into castle Noel. You can see all sorts of Christmas movie props including uncle Eddie's rv and then go down the actual slide they used in the movie. The parade and windows the kids looked into was filmed in public Square. (Close to the actual house)

They also filmed a sequel to this that's a lot of fun. A Christmas story Christmas. (They had to change the lady who portrayed mom - she retired and just recently passed) rest in peace to mom and the old man. Enjoy the movie

This was the 4th of 7 movies on this family. The newest one came out last year (A Christmas Story Christmas) and features all the kids back as adults 4 decades later. Really well done.

This is where the joke is on the folks this year. I got every kid a Chrismas Edition Red Ryder BB gun and all the parents target 🎯 bullseye pajamas. My kid, my buddies kids, and my niece and great nephew. Im about to go out in the field and see if I can teach my 6 year old, the respect for arms. Shower up and make the gift rounds.
