Can't do that. Once the black king takes the back pawn the other one is unstoppable.

Looks like the famous Retí manoeuvre. 1.Kf7 -e6 -d5 - c6 and then Bb6 and b4-b5# This only was my first thought in 3 seconds, when I saw the diagram. The idea is of course very familiar.

What if black promotes the h pawn instead of the g pawn? Because that one is a check; you can't move the pawn.

It's not check because the g pawn is at g2.
