Worst thing you can do is select the "default" category for foods on fitness pal etc. Like "tuna sandwich" - insert random macros. She really needs to start weighing out all ingredients on her "home cooked" recipes. She can even save them - so future meals she just has to select it and enter weight. Crazy to me she thinks her eyeballing things is remotely accurate to the true size of her portions.

Like when people lie to you but have to look away. She knows she is wrong nad lyng about how many calories shes eating and how shes eating. The huge bites and large plate with enough for 2 people on it. I think with her its all subconsion though. Shes lied to herself for so long she believes most of her lies. Definitely more than what she allowed for. Calorie Counting is a great way to control food intake, but you do have to be brutally honest and weigh and portion everything. When I started doing that, I started losing weight. 32lbs down so far.

My mom had a stroke at the same age as her. She was in the early years of diagnosis and uncontrolled BS despite regular doctor intervention and diet change. She lost all control of her right side. Several decades later she is still weak in her right hand and has a hard time pronouncing Fs. But, it was a wake up call OK both sides (mom and doc) to get her meds figured out. She immediately went on continous insulin monitor and pump. It helped a lot. That "stroke face" reminded me of my mom after she got out of the hospital. Idk if it's enough for her to take her health seriously though.

This is embarrassing. Who exactly does she thinks she’s fooling? If you lie in your calorie counter why bother at all? One thing I will say Sansa although I do agree with you about her “exercise”. The fact is she abhors movement SO much, and she literally said “I would never use it if it wasn’t a gift. It’s a path to nowhere”. I believe she HAS to “add back” the calories because if not she would NEVER get on. What I’m saying is, the justification of being able to eat more is the only reason she gets on in the first place. And, the minute calories she gets for 10 min on a treadmill is far less of a problem than her refusing to correctly log meals and avoiding to log snacks entirely! That STICK of butter , I didn’t see that logged. Did she think it just evaporated so it doesn’t count? And there is NO way she only used 0.2 T olive oil. I have a feeling she guesstimates weight and then when she sees the calories assigned. She rounds it down. Like that stew imo was also more than 170g and I’m sure she didn’t weigh it.

25+ years ago I did WW and we were encouraged not only to “eat” any calories burnt during exercises, but to just stay in the points allowed for the day. But I guess standing still on a treadmill doesn’t count as “exercise”. Yet FB decides to count these “burnt calories” as extra food. She’s only cheating herself not anyone else. She really is foolish.

My goodness I love these videos! I know it is because my teenage son is a diabetic (diagnosed in the middle of Crackhead Olympics....kept me entertained while my son was in a 5 day coma). I am always learning something from you and taking it back to his doctor, my all time favorite is the diabetic plate suggested in a video that has suggested portion sizes. I got a few from Amazon and they are great to help my son understand appropriate portion size. Thanks again!!!! See now this is a legacy....helping with health issues find tools to make life better!

It’s so sad to think this but, Chantal might be better off not going to the class.. she’s just so defiant, I don’t even know what it is, but as soon as she learns she’s not supposed to do something, she has to do it, and I don’t think she can help herself. She found out she’s diabetic and started eating hubcaps of rice, rice is now basically her favorite food, and I think it’s cus she’s not supposed to have it. The woman made herself sick eating multiple orders of chicken skin, and within a week of swearing off fried food she’s eating broasted chicken. I’m really wondering if she took the classes, if the lessons on what not to eat, or what to avoid is gonna become her new diet plan.

Juuust like her one or two times trying out her mental health therapy visits, she went once or twice and then did not go back again because she said "they just kept asking the same questions all the time" and she never even got the notion that they were asking them repeatedly trying to get at the truth. She did the same thing with some other medical issues like her BED (supposed), she likes very much to get the "Evaluation" papers saying what they think she needs to do and then shows them years later (after not doing any of it) and saying "SEEEEEE, I tried this and it did not work".

You should not eat the calories you burn if you are trying to lose weight. And the reason she is enjoying counting calories is because she isn’t measuring anything. I just made split pea soup. I weighed everything, including the pot empty and with everything in it. It is the only way to work out a serving with calories and macros. It is work.

I’d love to know how many calories she’s giving herself for her treadmill walks. For example this weekend I ran a sub 25 min 5km which is very fast for me. I was PUSHING the entire time, my Garmin told me I was in zone 5 for 90% of the run. And I burnt a whopping 305 calories lol. Not even half a pistachio croissant.

It’s all good. She walked a quarter of a mile and 20 minutes today burning maybe 80 cal, so she’s good.

She doesn't want to go because then she won't have any excuses and they will tell her she really is killing herself. Wait until she goes blind! My dad did from untreated diabetes and he wasn't anywhere near her weight. I also think she is humiliated by what she's done to herlslf and is embarrassed to go to that class. But even if she did she still won't stop. She will keep lying to herself. Unless she goes to a place she has to live there and has eyes on her at all times nad they give out the food and make her exercise safely, she will not do it.

The great thing is if you cook them yourself it can be only a few hundred calories. Parboil, add seasoning and I use a oil sprayer before baking. Broil at the end for 4-5 minutes. I love my oil sprayer. It's much better than the canned crap. I basically use the Slimming World method.

I will never understand why someone would think they need to use butter AND oil together. Its all fat, pick 1. She does it in every dish, who taught her that?

I was sure I'd seen it done elsewhere (can't remember where) so I googled it. I use hardly any fat or oil myself...absolute bare minimum. Originally because my husband had a 5 way heart bypass over 10 years ago, and more recently the price of everything has also shot up so I would have cut down drastically anyway if the bypass issue hadn't been there.

I didnt watch the cooking stream. I cannot explain the face i made when you cut from her calorie estimate of 680 to an entire melted stick of butter in a pot 😂
