@densai894 ай бұрын
There are so many other cards they could have given the quarter century treatment but Konami decides to waste the slots on reprinting starlights. I dislike how a card came ultra and then reprinted as an ultra. Bump or drop the rarity to make it a little bit more different at least.

maybe because vendors had too much control over the market? Created a bubble basically. High end should reward long term investment...... not just safe quick investments to make hundreds on at a time.
@Watomarmelon4 ай бұрын
Yup -- I tried pointing it out with the Iris Swordsoul example. The card was accessible and no one was asking for a high rarity reprint. It ends up as pack filler for players and discourages collectors/investors while making Konami little to no money. One of many bizarre choices Konami has made.

Hey, thanks for the support. I don't mind reprints at all, so long as the reprint is in a different rarity (and I do prefer if there is a clear "high rarity" for a card). Players need reprints and it also helps budget collectors to reprint in rarities that are secret or lower.

the secondary market for card games is silly. All cards should be cheap so everyone can enjoy them.
@Watomarmelon4 ай бұрын
If every card is cheap, then card shops can't make a profit and will stop ordering Yu-Gi-Oh!. If card shops stop holding Yu-Gi-Oh!, then the game will die because players won't have a space to play.
@joanglo33944 ай бұрын
@@Watomarmelon we dont need card shops to play, people can just meet up at some rented office for a day like they do with smash melee tournaments. would konami officially support those types? Probably not, but who cares, then we could do actual cash prizes or something else better than only game mats and card packs.
@uthmanibn-jafar11593 ай бұрын
@@joanglo3394 I always shake my head when I hear people say things like this. Yugioh is a business. Konami needs to have cards that are rare/expensive in order to sell a sufficient quantity of sealed product at a price high enough to be profitable. If all the cards were cheap and Konami kept sealed product at the same price, very few people would buy it. In order to get people to buy it, they would need to sell it at a price so low that it wouldn't even be profitable for them. The end result would be the same either way. Yugioh would no longer be profitable for Konami, and the TCG would cease to exist.
@brianlauria4 ай бұрын
Starlights were always over-hyped and people who bought them as an investment were stupid. Collectors rares were also overhyped. Random crappy ones fetching over $50 each. Back in the day, cards would appreciated naturally overtime. Same with OTS ultis.... they used to be like $30-40 but before rarity collection; everyone that would come out would start at $100+ which is just silly. Don't buy things at inflated prices. I am glad investors have been stung because they thought they had super safe investments taking no risk and buying up everything they can find.
@walkingcorpse12244 ай бұрын
I enjoy blinging out my deck to a certain degree, as the format changes, cards get banned which lowers value, it also stops me from using it until' further notice, but eh once in a while it's okay. I like Starlight rares but ur right, they are wayyyyyyy too over valued, I still think Ultimate Rares are the best rares. Ghost rares are okay, one card that I feel should get a ghost rare is Necroworld Banshee which will never happen. I'm also that guy who waits for his favorite archtype to go down in price before getting it and then when I play it, it sucks ass but I'm fine with that. I pay $100 to play pretty much. And despite the deck being meh it's still good enough to hold it's own and make the game fun. 😂

How would you feel about ocg print styles in the tcg?
@Watomarmelon4 ай бұрын
I think an OCG rarity spread in core sets would be fine. I think the OCG practice of reprinting cards in identical rarities (what I am mainly complaining about) is a mistake. I am friends with a native Japanese collector who complains about how the OCG has no collectibility due to reprinting in identical rarities all the time.

Why will this Channel be terminated by KZbin bro!?😮
@Watomarmelon4 ай бұрын
Long story short, this channel is linked to a channel that was terminated due to copyright violation. The deleted channel was made like a decade ago and I honestly forgot about it until randomly a Pokemon Go channel of mine also linked to the same channel was deleted. KZbin support basically told me that I am effectively banned from making content due to a previous channel termination, so eventually all the channels linked to this account will be terminated. So I made a new channel on a new account.

No, Yugioh is NOT dying. The get-rich-quick types; especially Americans, got spoiled by the Pandemic Era gains - and are still getting spoiled by Pokemon (and One Piece) even now. OCG has had Rarity Collection for a very long time, and it was never considered a problem there.

@Watomarmelon4 ай бұрын
My understanding is that it is not short-printed (but is only available in QCR). I'm not a huge fan -- the card is somewhat playable and so it should therefore be accessible to the masses in some lower rarity as well. Printing cards in high rarity doesn't solve the problem; the problem lies with Konami reprinting cards in nearly identical rarities.
