I have a brother, but he had passed away. I actually never got to know him because he only lived for a couple months and he would have been my big brother. His birthday is Christmas Eve and ik its stupid cuz I never really "knew" him but I always miss him around this time and this month has been extremely hard for me, this audio really helps, thank you :)

I've been studying family counselling this semester and actually, it's very common for those kinds of deaths to impact children. Stillbirths, miscarriages, infant deaths, it's often something that isn't really talked about and children often aren't given the time or opportunity to grieve, so it can affect them a lot in this unspoken, invisible way. It's okay to grieve for your brother, it's okay to remember him and miss him. You might like to talk with your family about it, perhaps even hold a little remembrance service for him or talk about memories of him. Maybe you'd like to write him a letter and tell him things you want to say, things you wish you got to do with him, tell him that you miss him and wish you got to know him more. That can be a really healing thing to do.

Im in the same boat. My big brother was taken before he even got to take his first breath, and my older twin siblings didn't make it out. I miss them, especially my biggest brother, so I totally feel you.
