@@Paislywalls4767 Have you seen Reign Over Me? I couldn't take Adam Sandler serious as an actor because he always did these silly comedy things. Don't get me wrong, he's good at that and some of them are OK movies, but after watching Reign Over Me it annoyed me that he didn't do more straight acting, because he has an acting talent but you don't really see it with the things he usually does.

@@benkohonays5084 I did. Maybe need to see it again, was working full time/plus, had 2 ornery kids...whew! Not enough Time in the day. It didn't seem to make sense to me at the time. But then, it was so far off his norm, I was expecting some laughs and got that. Kinda like Robin Williams in Fisher King (?) Where he was a homeless type, learn he Lost it when his wife died 😥 or character in August Rush... I know actors don't like getting pidgeon holed but dang, not what I expected. But I'll get over it 😊 I appreciate all their efforts, I like a person who I'll watch something Just Because They're in it. That seem the type: they'd be good people in normal life! Hey! Thank you. Learn something new every day. As humans ,with the Ability, have turned breeding into some perty sadistic stuff: breeding noses and legs off dogs, cats and now horses. Not very nice at all. I Love diversity but this stuff takes life and makes it miserable for the critters. @stacyc4287Сағат бұрын
Nope. That’s not how things work, unless you just believe everything you read. Actually her company did. They attempted to put the rest of her staff back to work. Violating the strike deal would have meant using non union writers, which they would not do. They halted production immediately afterwards, I believe it was a day or so later. She apologized and that was it. Move on. She’s the face but there’s a huge machine behind her. She’s never shown anything but love and support all around.

AI speech-to-text captions: "How do you feel about becoming a Quinn to June Arian?" Nothing to worry about, here folks. We got this.:
@snr0n21 сағат бұрын
Actually, closed captioning for CBS is provided by the Media Access Group at WGBH. That ineptitude is very much human. If you switch to KZbin's auto-generated captions, you'll see they say "quint genarian", which isn't perfect but is certainly miles closer, so, y'know 🙃 As someone with ample experience in transcription work, I assure you that doing a quick tidy of work generated by AI tools is massively faster and more accurate than just letting exhausted and overworked people spew the kind of absolute nonsense this show routinely offers up in its captioning.
@deVeaux396220 сағат бұрын
@@snr0n Thanks for the information. I can't say which captions I was watching (I thought it was KZbin, since that's where I was viewing the clip,) and I transcribed the caption directly from the screen. Either way, I agree with you. I hope this continues to improve.
@snr0n17 сағат бұрын
@@deVeaux3962 KZbin defaults to showing other captions when a file's provided - if you look under the settings for this video, it'll say "English" is selected rather than "English (auto-generated)". I don't wanna get too lost in the weeds here, but you can also just see clear stylistic differences when you know to look for them. Although tbh I wouldn't personally obsess about that, because these days there's always a chance that any random KZbin channel could be using a video production workflow that spits out their own AI-driven subtitle files... and they're probably pretty decent? We're really at a point where you can have a nicely formatted set of subtitles with labels for different speakers, and the occasional misattribution of who's speaking or misinterpretation of what was said could just as easily be either AI or human work that was outsourced and not thoroughly checked. It sounds like we can agree that from an accessibility standpoint (and for the satisfaction of our own personal pedantry, haha), accuracy is what really matters about captions, not who or what produced them. I just wanna say that while there are definitely criticisms to be made of AI, I feel like it's become something people hyperfocus on to the point that it can be a little shortsighted. Whether something sucks because it was produced by an underpaid/overworked skilled human, a comparatively fairly paid but also less skilled human, or because those humans were replaced entirely by some subpar software that's cheaper still, the root problem is one of prioritising profit over providing for the needs of actual people. I get that that feels so much harder to push back against because it's so pervasive and solidly entrenched, but I think that's all the more reason to be clear and intentional about where we direct our energy.
