Right before Covid became a thing I visited with my Dad’s oldest brother age 94. He wanted me to return and bring my horn because he thought he could still play. I have no doubt that if he had a chance he would have played Ed “Stardust”. He passed away at age 96

The Serial# is from about 1976 but that IS a Kiefer Beryllium bell, pre-Anderson, slightly thinner, you can tell b/c the flange/screw attachment at the bell tail is thinner than the Anderson made ones. I'm wondering if this is one of Faddis' B6L's....he used to get one every year and always in gold-plate...I have Mike Vax's '81 B6L-B

So what you're saying is that this beryllium used by schilke is really a hybrid copper of some sort?

Be careful putting mutes in it. The bell of those is very thin.
