Balance is key 🔑 ! Exactly you have to feed your body with lots of different types of food and different food groups to recover ….. I love that you’re promoting healthy eating and explaining moderation……. So many people especially younger kids think in order to be strong or healthy you have to starve yourself & tend to have an unhealthy relationship with food.

I don’t agree that people that are trying to lose weight shouldn’t have sugar. It’s actually far easier to stick to a deficit if you allow for foods you enjoy in a balanced and none restrictive way, not labelling foods “bad” or cheats because that can lead to disordered eating. They are just “sub optimal” and are totally fine as part of a healthy balanced diet. I lost over 100lbs and never had to cut out anything entirely to get there. It’s easy to fall for diet culture though. You don’t have to justify having sugar to us tia
@stevo97123 жыл бұрын
Sorry but sugar is the most addictive substance on the planet, research it the food company’s use it to hook you on junk. And dairy, humans are the only ones to consume another animals milk... gross
@laurenh19283 жыл бұрын
Agree! Sugar is just a carb and all carbs (except some fiber) are broken down into glucose regardless of the source.
@laurenh19283 жыл бұрын
@@stevo9712 Have you ever put a saucer of cow milk in front of a cat? It’s not that other animals won’t consume milk from a different animal; they just don’t have easy access to it.

@@laurenh1928 I was raised on it too, just saying it’s not healthy to the body. Very small moderation with that utter puss 💪🏻
@dukequach96413 жыл бұрын
You losing 100lbs doesn’t have anything to do with the physiology of sugar. Sugar spikes blood glucose which can cause uneven energy levels. Sugar can also have effect on hormones which regulate appetite (glucagon, insulin, GLP-1. Although they don’t DIRECTLY target satiety, they can affect it through effect modification). Sugar isn’t bad, but it does have a large impact on blood glucose which is a very important thing for energy levels and homeostasis

Great vid and I'm going to try and find some or that turkey bacon here in Oz! I was a bit surprised how much packaged food you talked about. I thought it was going to be a cart full of fruit and veg for the week. I get that you're busy and meals need to be quick and easy and you've found a balance. Also, it would have been good to see the bag unpacked across the table at the end. Next step, start making you're own spice mixes! Taco spice mix can be a simple as coriander seed, cumin seed and smoked paprika 👌

Surprising amount of discussion about sugary food. Vanilla yoghurt packs a bunch of the stuff. Guess it all depends on portion size, the yoghurt + granola treats must be tiny compared to the regular fare of rice + veggies + meat. I eat cereal bowls of plain yoghurt and nuts, definitely couldn't get away with making it sweet but then I work out way way less because I'd get injured with the amount of volume a pro works through every day.

Hi Tia, I'm new ro macros after losing 37lbs through cutting calories and crossfit and now I'm at a total stand still. I've come across macros and they seem to work amazingly but no matter what I always seem to get stuck between fats and protein, when I'm hitting my protein my fats are too high. How can I change this as its driving me a little crazy 🤪. Any advice would be great. P.S you're awesome 👌!!!
@problemat1que3 жыл бұрын
Try adding plant protein like lentils and bean and remove sausages. Don't be too scared of fat though, I've done well with a high fat, high protein, low carb diet. Eating fat keeps you feeling full much longer than carbs, so it's easier to lose weight. She did say in the video that you can go for egg whites only if you're worried about fat.

Do you count the number of calories per day you eat? I read that approximately women should eat 1200 calories per day and men should consume 1800 calories per day. I try (as a male) to eat once a day (eat as much as I can like roasted chicken, grilled fish, and green vegetables - the total calories for the one meal is 1200-1500 ) and snack (baked chips, nuts, turkey jerky) the rest of the day. On my cheat day, I will have frozen yogurt. I do not eat ground beef because it makes me sick, but I will eat turkey patties.
@sandochlo3 жыл бұрын
I cannot stress this enough when I say it is INDIVIDUAL how much you should eat; based on body composition, goals, energy expenditure etc but generally, males should be eating upwards of 2200 cals a day - everyone is different but I would thoroughly recommend reaching out to professional if you are consuming that amount of calories.
