Why the $500+ ears? Is it in case you need to get into a firefight so you need the noise reduction? Or is it so you don't need to move your hand the extra inches to get from your PTT to your radio?

Yeah its a good helmet. And the customer service aint bad. Ur getting more features with those more expensive bump helmets, but not enough to justify the price difference in my opinion.

Quick question: When you have the face shield attached are you still able to raise it? Or does the shroud NOG mount get in the way

We designed it to be raised with the NVG shroud still attached. If you have Up-Armor, a set of NVGs, or your NVG mount attached however, it will not go up. You'll need to remove those items before the face-shield can go up.

can you use the bump helmet for mountain biking?

We have not done IIHS testing on our bump helmets to see if they are viable for mountain biking. We do however meet the AR-PD 10-02 blunt impact standards for the U.S. Army and BS/EN 1385: 2012 which is the standard for white water rafting.
