In college I was in Corp of Cadets. We used the creme polish and hard wax with water as spit shine. Some used a flame to help the polish penetrate the leather to form the mirror shine. I see Kirby applying polish with dress shirt, tie and suit. I hold my breath hoping he doesn't slip and touch his clothes. Well done.

I remember using a handkerchief that’d been covered in shaving cream for days to shine my parade shoes when I was in military school. Some guys would cheat and use Mop & Glow on theirs but you could always tell because it didn’t melt in the hot sun.

Thank you so much for these videos, Kirby, they are so helpful, even for women!!! I ordered these products from your site to try on my own shoes! I’m a woman who got tired of terrible quality women’s footwear and have purchased a couple pairs of Carmina shoes, and wanted to know how to give them a mirror shine but had no clue where to start. This guide helped teach me exactly what to buy and how to apply; thank you!!!

First off, your videos and walkthroughs are so much more detailed and succinct than others out there. I've searched exhaustively for this particular breakdown. I love how you're using the three different Saphir Mirror Gloss Waxes. I have tried using the Neutral to no avail and actually seemed to discolor (stain) areas on one shoe around the medallion. Frustrated I almost binned my new pair of C&Js. However, watching your walkthrough on using dark brown and brown coupled with neutral has influenced me to give it another go. Brilliant outcome on the tip. Love the uniformity of darker contrast. This is exactly what I'm looking to do to save mine. Cheers again, sir.

Hey Mr. Kirby, I really love watching you taking care of your shoes, would you mind uploading everytime you take care each of your shoes? Whether it's complete mirror shine or routine care or even a quick care/emergency for instance when we have an event to attend the same night and we just realized our shoes look awful. I think people would love it as well. It would be nice if you show each of your shoes (and loads of shoe care walkthrough for each) as they might be different both in material and also colours. Thanks in advance!

I'm maintaining a mirror shine on a female RAF cadet shoe. The dress requirements are that the whole shoe be mirror shined which means the flexing parts always need attention after every wear. Any advice on how often to strip back to the bare leather with the Reno'mat as opposed to trying to keep the shine going? Great videos BTW.
