I found this game to be a lot of fun actually... though I do admit, the repeat artifact cutscenes and "realistic" grav jump mechanics got grating after a while (I did in fact start scrolling my phone if I had to do multiple jumps to get to my destination).

4:14 Nailed it on the head Will, GG…. Also, 9:40 when you had issues with the map, those arrows on the floor points you to where you need to go, like the VANS perk in Fallout 4 when you open VATS and it tells you how to get to the location…. We really needed a map tho…

From what I can tell about the game is that its a classic Bethesda RPG marketed as no mans sky or star citizen, my friends who've played seem to enjoy it so I may get it on sale to see what its all about

@@Williaso I made the mistake of fighting Thunderblight Ganon as my second Devine Beast. took 2 hours total to beat him, 30 minutes getting my shit kicked in, and spent one hour doing the heart/stamina duplication glitch and cooking, and another 30 minutes fighting him again to beat him. Now I’m beginning the final beast in the volcano area.

@honomaki4391 I enjoyed the game quite a bit. On my third play through with the same character, unlocking new aspects of the game that weren't really available to me earlier. Yeah, the lock pick system is nauseating, and the ship building is clunky, and there are no maps. That being said, they've already announced updates to those and the inclusion of actual maps.

In all fairness, I don't really care about the amount of work they'd have to do, they're a Triple A company and other, smaller companies have done it. It's an expectation they didn't meet and makes the game feel outdated.

Wow. A game that has been in development for the better part of two decades is lacking a feature that games 6 years ago have/had. Oh noooooo Bethesda couldn’t be fucked enough to create a new game engine, totally not like they have thousands of employees, hundreds of millions of dollars and a blank check written to them for time allotments between title releases. Wow!!! It’s almost like Bethesda is a company that made 3 good projects and have constantly been gutting, chopping up, and repacking them into new products (literally sound effects from Fallout 3/4 and Skyrim are in Starfield. The Skyrim Shouts are in it. Fallout 4 looting UI) just to see how rich they can get before being called out.

Meh, it's decent in VR but other than that nothing special. EVE online was doing everything Elite was like a decade before. The appeal of Starfield is being a single player game that can be modded to the extent desired by the user and you don't really get that with MMO games like that. Starfield is still brand new for the mod scene so it will take some time, but the alternatives aren't going to be offering an experience like that.

Lockpicking is the best of any iteration in any game. The game is at least smooth in how it operates. Yes, it is annoying to have to make intermediate jumps between destinations. But the menu is easy to operate and once you've visited a star-system you can jump without the in-between jumps anymore. It's a RPG Sim, so I'm more grateful they didn't make the whole process tedious by having us fuel up at stations and they just made fueling an automatic feature. There are unique dialogues that can complete quests in different ways. Dependent on unique world abilities acquired, skills unlocked, powers unlocked, background chosen, and unique traits chosen. You have to actually play the game and make choices to be granted alternative choices. The thing I hate most is the loading screens. Which will be solved with mods. Is it annoying to have a 8.5/10 game only be made a 10/10 with mods? Yes, most definitely. But that doesn't mean that it should have such hate. Bethesda has always been about massive expansive stories that are interesting (and ignoring the main story). It's not for everyone and I respect your opinion of not enjoying Bethesda games as a whole. I'm more annoyed by your comment of us defending the game, being dick-suckers even though it's just people do actually find enjoyment out of Bethesda games. And this is their best game yet. I'm more annoyed with other people who bitch about the game and somehow think it's not an RPG or that it's worse than previous games. On a generational scale, Bethesda has failed us. The game is way outdated, on a game engine older than some gamers. But on a gaming scale, this game scratches an itch for a Space RPG and is also designed to be their best game to date. No other game is like it. People like to Compare No Man's Sky, but... No Man's Sky has a bare bones story that was pathetic and lame and only took an hour to complete, it's base building is clunky and unintuitive, it doesn't have ship building, combat is one-dimensional and overly simple. Starfield only gets exploration wrong, and that's if you create a procedurally generated world. The pre-built worlds are filled with amazing splendor and every nook was payed attention to.
