Regarding hairlines and their recession, what really matters is the recession on your side-hair - i.e. from temples running up the side of your head until it 'meets' with the top hairline. The top hairline has to transition into your side hair line naturally for it to look realistic.
@JakeKent4 жыл бұрын
When did you lose your temple hair?
@David-no7zi4 жыл бұрын
@@2011buddylee Sounds good - I'm actually looking into the possiblity of a small temple transplant - only a few hundred hairs each side, to restore mine. Loss of temple hair makes a big difference aesthetically considering how few hairs it actually involves - makes your forehead look 'wide'.
@David-no7zi4 жыл бұрын
@@JakeKent I'm 36, and I'd guess I'm a norwood 3 at the moment. Thick sides and back, thinning hair on top.....but my temples were actually the first thing to go - I haven't had solid temples like you have since I was about 22, even though my hair loss has progressed slowly since then. Some people lose their temples early, some go completely bald on top but always keep their temples....it's an odd thing!

I have a response to your "why would you wear a recessive hairline" comment. I was 28 when I got my hair system and I told the salon to do my natural hairline (which exists still, it's the crown that is completely bare). My natural hairline was fairly receded, but still also looked like a mature late 20's hairline. The hair system was nearly undetectable because my hairline was a natural slightly receded look. It tricks people into going like "someone who is insecure and gets a hair system won't get a hair system with a receding hairline". That's the point of me doing that ! Hahahaha. It worked pretty well.

Great info. But people need to know that each company uses their own letters for contours. Each company uses their own colour ring. Each company uses their own density percentages. NO specifications are universal, or transferable between suppliers.

Jake good information one question I have is, I live in Waco, Texas, and would like to find a Lavivid hair replacement salon in the area for the first few times but can't locate one. Called hair Club they want 386.00 a month. That is way too high. You interviewed a person from Texas and I have no idea now what video it's on. Also, my hair is dirty blonde and no gray but, my beard is mixed with a lot of gray even white so do you get a system that matches more with the beard or the hair. I'm 73 and have been wanting to get hair since my 40s. You've inspired me, young man. Thank you. I could consider Lordshair also, I don't want to buy a system every month but my main thing is I want it to look real. I do have a ponytail I began growing again. A lot of us after Vietnam began growing long hair. Now, will a system still work? Do most of these salons or shops charge high prices every time you go into them to get your hair put on?

HI Jake! Just discovered your channel and I'm REALLY appreciating all the insight you give on living with a hair system. Is there any possibility for me to email you or contact you to ask for your opinion on something regarding a hair system for myself? I've been looking into systems for about 6 months now and have been leaning towards it for a while, I just need to talk to someone who knows the topic before I feel totally confident with the decision. Eric, lavivid hair sponsors some of my videos, but I don’t take commission from any Company, because I want THE VIEWER to make the Choice. I do purposefully give equal support to all companies who help support the conversation around destigmatizing hairloss, instead of taking commission from one particular company.

I install my own unit then go to the only place in my town that knows how to cut the hair and they charge $220 just to cut it, is this normal, and they don't do a good job they charge over a grand for the full system and a curse and I think because ibring in my own system they purposely ruin mine because I get cut kinda long but there are hundreds of little hairs that stick straight up and out, I'm new to this and idk if I'm doing something wrong I had 3 system so far and none of them compare to what I see online it pisses me off because I live off ssi $550 a month I'm so sick of hair loss I have alopecia and scalp eczema and I'm 23 but look 18 bald looks terrible on me and this hair system thing just doesn't seem to be working out for me I'm so depressed

One good point is the cost of the unit. But there is one more thing I want to add. folks hunting for a bargain are more likely to try and get as much life out of their systems that they can, especially if they are DIYers. The problem comes is that you tend to start to think about a new unit, after you needed to change it. Then you need to order. That time gap... you don't look 100%. The idea is to have a consistent look. It means having that next system in your hands BEFORE you need to take the one on your head off, and toss it into the trash. I have clients coming to me with bald patches asking me (hey do you think I can get another month out of this thing)? No matter what you decide to buy, once you have something that works, stick with it... and always have a spare. In the time of COVID-19, and limited inventories, it really makes sense to make sure that next unit is in it's bag, in a drawer, waiting to be attached.

I've had two MHE systems. First swiss lace in 65% grey, second thin skin in 40% which I just received. I sent off a hair sample but I'm having huge issues getting a match. The 65% looked nearly 100% grey at a glance and was more silver than grey, almost with a purple tint. It didn't look like a natural colour. I just got the 40% and it's barely grey at all and I won't be able to use it. From a distance it looks black. Both systems are fantastic quality but the stock system density is far too dense for me. I honestly feel stock systems should be light by default, they look much more realistic imo. So yeah, if you can get a colour match, I recommend MHE. But I'm struggling and I've wasted a lot of money. I've reached out to see if a colour wheel is available.
