This was a great discussion. I found it really validating as to how I have always expressed myself when something makes me really happy. People have always told me that I am a very intense person, something I’ve never actually understood. Lucky for me , I guess, that I’m an artist so it seems acceptable when I’m completely absorbed in a painting and ultimately deliver something that people wish they could do. I explain to people that they are existing in the world and not really in touch with it in that they don’t appreciate nature or simple things that they are taking for granted. I guess I’m just reversing it on them by instead of me having to feel weird, I’m pointing out how weird it is that they don’t really connect with the world, they just think they do, and that it’s sad that they don’t know how. I do have to try and control how excited I can feel about some things for sure, that’s when I feel I have to mask, or use humour or whatever. Ultimately, I don’t enjoy being around people for too long at a time, they’re stressful.
