Super excited for this!!! I can tell how much they put into this

Very excited for the WFP. Good conversation. Thanks for bringing more awareness to the WFP.

Excellent! This was a needed interview to clearly lay out both the genesis of the WFP and what it is/is not. Most importantly, it is meant to be complimentary to the Games and other big events and provide more opportunities for the athletes.

Great to get WFP on the podcast. What are their plans for athlete safety? Will they have open water swim events?
@coachlazarАй бұрын
why should they do open water swim events?
@jater1025 күн бұрын
@@coachlazarif we want to test swimming fitness, what is the difference does it matter if its open water or a pool. Personally would rather see a swim event done in a pool so it can be monitored better.

How does this make money? It's a cool idea just not sure how it can stick around without generating income

Get The Buttery Bros for media and athlete stories

Do they ever address how they’ll earn money?
@davidprendergast7697Ай бұрын
honestly think they should consider Andrew Hiller as their Director of Judging for North American. This would really set them apart in that space from Crossfit Games. Hiller would have to be open to this of course, but I think this would be a savvy move.

“Functional fitness” 😂. Cool interview but guys honestly… Its all CrossFit.. don’t be shy.
@85jamesnАй бұрын
True but if they say that, the lawsuits would quickly follow.

It's a good thing to change the narrative behind the competitive sport and to separate the sport itself from a brand so it opens more doors to grow.

This sounds great. But FYI if you want to call it the “world” anything you need to invite people from all over the world. Not just do the US thing of making a US sport and calling them “world champions” 😂
@elizabethlane9687Ай бұрын
Good point. However, I’m not sure they talked about it here but did on CPW that there are two comps in US and one in Europe. Still not completely global but more than just the US. I think several athletes signed pro thus far are not US based also.
@tbird7606Ай бұрын
They have announced non US athletes

In this interview they touched on that quite bit with first season including Europe and hopes of expansion to Australia and possibly South America in 2026.

They probably want to get there someday. It's their first year so I'm going to give a little grace.
