@@ronaldlochart8127 Absolutely. It's one thing if a cop has to call their supervisor to find out exactly what a law says, it is an entirely different thing for any law enforcement to tell any U.S. citizen, "You have no rights". They should be fired and stripped of the ability to ever be in law enforcement anywhere.

Officers can legally make 'mistakes,' and do 'incorrect' things, and the AG does not have to charge or prosecute everyone or enforce every law, they can pick and choose which laws and on whom they enforce and how harshly they do it. So it is a parallel system of law being unfairly and overly enforced on some people, while doing the opposite for another well connected class of people.

Qualified ammunity only applies to officers who have believed what they did was within the last, and other officers would do the same. Every officer knows it's a crime to write a false report. When they sign it, it says, your signature represents that everything you've written is true, to the.best of your ability. Most of what he wrote were lies. The prosecutor now has to go back to any case he testified in, and notify the lawyer that the officer may have lied. The officer did this maliciously, not caring what it would mean to the man's future. It looks like he changed things from a misdemeanor to a felony, to possibly cover up his screwups of the illegal detention. Who told him he should do that???

Not just the years you lost but that felony will follow you to every job, every relationship, just like the cops themselves who will now be following you to the ends of the earth. Imagine how broken it must feel to have to just surrender. To pretend you are guilty, because everyone assumes you are anyway. "So it says on your resume that you were arrested for possession?". And you know you can't win, you know it's a forgone conclusion, so after being straight edge your whole life you have to confess to something you didn't do, and then convince them you've changed your ways. Talk about soul crushing.

My younger brother told me years ago that many of the "bad" kids and bullies he knew in grade school ended up joining the local police department as adults. The job of police officer is ready made for people with innate aggression and no compunction about bullying others or being dishonest. They receive professional and personal gratification for behavior they were punished for in school.

Sadly the psychological testing they do on police recruits is to find the petty vindictive narcissists and put badges on them. It's a rumor it's to protect the public. Modern policing is what is guaranteed to happen when for decades you intentionally pick the petty controlling morons and train them how to use their badge and the courts to enforce their ego. It's what happens when you not only allow it but encourage it and go to great lengths to make sure police are exactly the type of people who get off on it. The whole reason our society is insane when it comes to crime and law enforcement is because police departments intentionally dredge the bottom of the barrel. Whenever shit like this happens the morons who have made it into command positions don't see a police officer using his badge to enforce his ego as a the problem. The only problem they see is the officer just didn't frame the person right.

Very astute, your brother! We are ALL taught, as kids, to respect police, fire and all emergency service workers, obey their commands in an emergency situation... the bully, exiting the school system, is actually attracted to the police, over all others because it's the easiest emergency service to get into, that gives the raised authority level they seek... No medical training, no hard physical work training to combat fire and medical stuff too... plus the bonus of a GUN, Taser, pepper spray and qualified immunity! All a bully has to do is; pretend he's back in school, for his training period... he finds the instructors much more "flexible" on his performance/exam results... six months and he's a fully authorised deputy Bully!... with a lethal weapon

The Supreme court has ruled that police have no obligation to protect anyone. Their duty as law enforcement to which they have an IMPARITIVE ROLE, is to FACILITATE FREEDOM by UPHOLDING the RULE OF LAW as ENUMERATED in the CONSTITUTION to which THEY SWORE an OATH, and to PROTECT the RIGHTS of the PEOPLE. NOT the people themselves. People have a grave misunderstanding of a peace officer's role. Their role is to help their communities to try to promote tranquility, NOT FLEECING people, and also NOT by policing for monetary gain through EXTORTION!

Unfortunately people still believe the narrative that it's a few "bad apples" , when actually whole departments are trained to be this way; to assume that all civilians are possible killers. In addition, they don't just lie to us, they lie on their reports, they lie to their command structure, they lie to the courts and what's worse, the command structure and the judges protect the liars, even when it's obvious. They know that there won't be any real repercussions, in fact a cop who gets caught, but keeps his mouth shut and sticks to the lie, will often be promoted when the issue is forgotten. Tom I will just say. In my case. The criminal came in brod Daylight. Sawed of my Cat. Converter from my Ford. Took them like 30 to 40 second. I got a cop there right away. My Ring camera gave the cop enough info that they got the License number. The cop was very professional. He was saying he was sorry this happened to me. We gave him all the footage of the camera. They now the vehicle that the the criminal used. The funny part of this is my Cat. Was a ( after market one) not the one from factory, that I guess has value. The cop in my case was very good. This is a big problem in my area. Car theft of this type is big. Trucks are easy to get under. The thing about it though is it was a after market Cat. On my 2000 Ford. No value according to the Repair shop. They wasted there time. And my Ring camera filmed them doing it plus my DOG was having a barking fit. As far as me using Deadly Force on this. It's just Property, and if they are running from you. I would be in bigger trouble if I had shot them. Even if on my property. I would not use DEADLY force for property crime, in my Humble opinion

The officer is a disgrace and completely corrupt and must be fired and then charged for his numerous outrageous lies that could potentially change the life of the man he arrested (how many other innocent people has he done this to). This officer hasn’t slightly exaggerated what actually occurred with this incident but he has intentionally completely falsified his report (thank god the camera recorded it). If the police don’t fire this low life officer and charge him with perjury then heads must roll.

Mostly because they know they'll face no real consequences. At worst they'll have to "resign" and go work at a different police department. Only in the rarest of cases will they actually be brought up on criminal charges and even then they'll face far less time (if any) than a citizen guilty of the same crime. Qualified immunity and the public picking up the bill of their misconduct is to blame. Police officers should have to be individually insured just like doctors and when they're guilty of breaking the law they should be held to the same sentencing standards as any other citizen.

My sister’s neighbor was the retired chief of police. Thru her job, she had a lot of contact with him while he was with ‘the force’, and after he retired, he would still stop by her job. One day, he stopped by and was joking with her about spying on her through her bedroom window using binoculars from his deck. She thought at first he was pulling her leg and she was like yeah right! Then he started describing her bedroom! Freaking peeping Tom, and straight-up bragging to her about it at her place of employment in front of her coworkers? Talking about seeing her naked?! She told him she better NEVER even see his ass on the deck when she’s home, but honestly, it’s like what are you going to do, call the cops? And this was a medium-small town that was WAY over-policed. Like one time four cruisers swarmed my car after I pulled up to a gas pump, because they said the car IN FRONT of me called me in for road rage?! I pulled out of a side road behind them, so idk wth I was supposed to be doing behind them to ‘rage’. I don’t tailgate, and we were literally the only two cars on the road, so it’s not like traffic was bad, and it was night, and I drive like an old lady at night. Slowly and carefully, because my night vision since LASIK isn’t the greatest. And from the time I pulled out from the side road, until I was swarmed at the pump was less than half a mile. So that’s a heck of a fast response time for four cars! You’d think they were doing a drug bust the way they came in. That night, I had a male cop shoving his hands into my front and back pockets, ‘patting me down’, feeling around my bra for drugs or something?! No ticket. And a few seconds before the cops showed up, this 6’2” guy built like a linebacker got out of a car and stalked towards my car while screaming at me, but I didn’t know about what. I had no idea who he was and what he was mad about, and I had actually threatened to call the police if he didn’t calm down and back off (this guy was acting break-your-windows, violently angry, and I was alone at night). Turns out he was the HUGE 14 year old son of the woman in the car ahead of me that called me in as ‘road rage’. I still don’t know what I was even being accused of. I had barely even gotten up to the speed limit by the time I was slowing to turn into the gas station. It got to be, If you went out at night, there was a 20% chance you’d get pulled over for something. I finally moved away BECAUSE of the police. My hometown. 😢 I’m still kinda pissed with what they do, what they get away with, and the fact many of them are still there despite police brutality lawsuits (that the cop lost), they get moved one or two county over instead of being disciplined, etc. At one time, I did know some questionable people, and man I could tell you some stories about the police.

No more Qualified immunity. No one should be above the law. Police officers should get and pay for their own professional insurance. This way the corrupted ones won't be able to work anywhere, not even as a security guard because of their sky high premiums. Have all the police officers go through a psychometric test. The result should be available to prosecution to establish if these events were predictable and the level of involvement of HR and management in recruiting these officers. These people should also have professional insurance to be liable when hiring someone who could predictably commit crimes or acts of violence. It wouldn't be long that we would see major changes in recruitment. No more settlements paid by tax payers ! Aren't the Republicans all about personal responsibilities ? Then they should support such a measure !

Livingston, Texas is a lot like this. A man who visited seasonally for the winter liked to ride his bike. However, in the small town/county people let their dogs run lose illegally and often. He carried a legal machete to defend himself. This happened when two owners pit bulls attacked him. He attempted to defend himself as he was mauled. The female owner hit him with his car. The dogs were eventually called off. The male owner on a motorized wheelchair ran him over and pinned him. Meanwhile, the female owner called two local young adults who came over and kicked the man brutally while on the ground. Meanwhile, a woman with her children in the car called the police. A Constable showed up and the bloody and beaten man crawled to him begging for help. The Constable deployed a taser on him and handcuffed him. He was charged with resisting arrest. He was taken to the local hospital and handcuffed to the bed. He was in near critical condition. A trial was held where one of the men complained the man hurt his foot while kicking him. A jury trial did not convict him of any violence nor resisting arrest. The aggressors were never charged. Unsatisfied with not convicting the victim, they charged him with “failure to appear,” handcuffed to a hospital bed with permanent disabilities. Once, able to leave, he left the State, the charges were dropped and the locals considered it a win. Never, find yourself in a small town if you’re not from there. Expect problems.

When this report and the video both pass on front of a judge, it should be "go directly to jail. Do not pass go. Do not collect paid vacation". I grew up in Milton, WV and it used to be a nice little town. But the ass-backwards train of thought by the local government is the main problem. On top of that, the majority of the police force is either brand new officers, bad officers that have been fired by other departments, or almost retired officers and they err just riding out their time. All the “Good Cops” work there for 2 years and get the F out for a better LE Job. This isn’t the first time and it’s not gonna be the last that you see Milton PD faking crimes and breaking the law to make an arrest.

This police officer should have his badge removed. This should have an ended with the police officer being charged with falsifying government documents losing his along with whatever kind of certifications has. If a civilian lied to a police officer on paperwork like that they would be put in jail or at least brought up on charges.

This story sounds so familiar to the situation in the small town I live in. Police put writing citations and collecting as their priority over rights of citizens and upholding the law. I watched and at times was victim of a corrupt police force. The outcome was a great impact on the economy of the town. My town could no longer afford maintaining a police force and now does not have one. Since the disbanding of the force life has definitely improved.

I am not focused and have trouble saying the right words..in the beginning people would tell me how dumb and stupid I was.. I am 67 years old blind in one eye and cannot see out of the other...I do have problem focusing at times..I and not using that as an excuse.. I am educated and worked for the Boeing Company for 28 years before I retired....I was an expeditior.on the 747 and the 767 just making sure that all of the mechanics on that part of the airplane had all the parts for that job to be installed..even though there assembly paperwork said that they received the parts for the job they said it's was not in there or they missed place it or they missed up the part.. usually they were small parts.. like brackets or screws..nuts fastener.. anything under 600.00 bucks and we have enough for the next airplane.. depending on the part of the airplane they are working on.. when they are missing panels or or labs especially when you are working on interior..or finial assembly really any part of the airplane a lot of parts are for that A/P only it's not like we have an extra one laying around it's been clocked to the shop so I know we received it..and it's not where it supposed to be..damn that's means I have to go find where it is..and the Boeing factory in Everett wa. Is hugh..on 1 shift we had 32 thousand people just on first shift..if you wanted to walk around the building it's just over a mile..best company I have ever worked for...in 1982 until 2009 I retired .. for many of years people would say..its like it used to be..i seen a lot of changes being made before I left..this is when things go wrong for me..I have no idea why I am telling you about the Boeing Company...I get lost in my thoughts.. I am sorry...I am never mean to anyone and if I said something to offend anyone.. I do apologize to them but most of the time it's because I repeat myself or miss spell or my sentence didn't make sense.. like I just did..i get lost in my thoughts and sometimes I think that's why people would say mean hurtful things to me..I just start to comment on something and the next thing I am talking about something that has nothing to do with the video..for a very long time I just didn't leave a comment.. I am embarrassed to say this but if I hit the mic and it writers what I am saying..half of the time I don't speak fast enough or the damn mic don't understand English.. it's not the mic it's me.. another embarrassment for me that I going to tell you is.. that's as of now took me just about over and hour to write this down.. anyone else it's would take them a few minutes to type this.. I can see why others would get upset with me.. I cannot go back and read what I wrote because if I did I would never leave a comment..all this I could have said in a few sentences.. David I just wanted to say Thank You for being kind to me.. not saying mean things me.. I really enjoy feeling like I am apart of the platform that I share my thoughts and opinions.. Thank You Again My Friend...God Bless You And Your Family.. Please Stay safe.. I just wanted to Thank You David for letting me know that I had miss spell and or this makes no sense.. That's what a wonderful and gracious person does to another person.. I was moved by the way you explain to me.. and not telling me how stupid or just negative option to me thats ment to hurt or belittle someone.. it's took me a day or two to get back to you..but I wanted to make sure I was focused and you can understand what I am saying and that I am not replying myself
