Two additional points to highlight the amazing Word of God. The verse in the story of Abraham and Issac, it's translated "God will provide the lamb himself" but I think the hebrew language would also allow for the translation "God will provide, Himself, the lamb." Additionally, when they find the lamb for the sacrifice nearby it's horns are stuck in brambles, or a thorn bush. So the prefigurment of the lamb of God, in Genesis, is found wearing a crown of thorns. 🤯

@stephanie4949 Step thks for kind remark. I have been in prolife activism for a few years. Fr just switched on the fact we are in bondage like the Israelites in strange land but then talked about self bondage of sin of which his Son comes to deliver us giving us the gift of confession challenging sometimes

Protestants praise and pray Catholics worship No blood sacrifice, no worship Scripture 101

In Leviticus, the people are told they are not allowed to consume the blood of any of the animals, because "the life of the animal is in the blood." It seems reasonable that it is this prohibition that makes his disciples repel from him in John 6 when Jesus says "unless you eat my flesh and drink my blood you have no life in you." Christ on the crucifix is the fruit of the tree of life - the one that was in the Garden in Genesis.
