Hi Everyone
Welcome back to another video. A lovely countryside and canal walk through beautiful Lancashire with my Dad
Parking at the large car park opposite the Glasson Dock basin (£4.50 for 5 hours) we headed east following the line of the old railway line, now a tarmac foot and cycle path.
On reaching The Stork Inn on the main Lancaster road we turned left then pretty much straight right to head over some wonderful fields before reaching the tow path of the Lancaster canal. From hear we headed south along the canal for a mile or so, before shortly after passing Galgate marian we turend west again to follow the Glass branch of the Lancaster canal back to where we started. All in all a lovely easy walk that would be suitable for people of all ages and ability.
A link to the route in OS maps is below if you are ever in the area and fancy doing it.

All the very best
Dave

That was great, Dave, who needs mountains!! It amazes me how there are so many paths and rights of way in England through farms and fields. When you met the canal it looked to me that it was a real working canal and I loved the old canal boats. The engineering for the bridges and locks was superb. Greatvwalk, Dave, regards, Ashley

@@ashleyjarnold Hi Ashley, yeah tens of thousands of miles. I just like getting out the OS map and trying to plot a route using the green lines, it’s good fun. It’s still is a busy canal for sure, although me and my Dad was only saying it did looked like some of the boats had not turned a propeller in a long time. Haha I’m in construction and if we tried to build canals and bridges like that now it would take 12 months just to get the paperwork signed off! 🤣 All the best mate, and thanks as always for taking time to watch and comment. 😀🥾⛰

Hi Dave, We love walking along a canal tow path, there is something so peaceful and quintessentially British countryside about it 😊👌. One of our favourites is the llangollen canal. This looked lovely too, with some really pretty countryside paths too. A fine bimble indeed! Hope you are well and off out again soon. Keep them coming! All the best, Shell and Pete 😊👍

Hi Guys, thank you so much as always fro watching. Your support is brilliant. It's a walk I have done a couple of times now. Unfortunately walking in the Lakes is too much for my Dad now, but walks like this are still a breeze for him so it was nice to get out for a few hours, and as you say our countryside in the nice weather, well there is no better place to be! All good and hope to get out one day next week. Have a lovely weekend guys. Dave
