I used to wake up anxious a lot in my latter years of high school (with at-the-time undiagnosed generalized & social anxiety) & would dry heave a bunch before I could calm down enough to force myself to eat something for breakfast. I got really good at vomiting quietly so I didn't wake up my parents. Which is kinda sad tbh in retrospect....🙃

I haven't watched the video yet, but just have to say before I do that this series is more than "fairie smut" as so many (most who likely haven't read the entire thing) claim. The sexy scenes are less than 1% of the entire book. There are the same number of scenes in Nevernight...but one is written by a woman and gets a ton of shame for being "nothing but smut." Okay, now I can watch, LOL.
@Crystal0504 ай бұрын
Exactly! The characters are amazing and well-rounded, and sjm has a way of writing them that make them so real in our heads that u cry with them, laugh with them, rejoice with them, etc. The plots are stunning, well thought up, and all the twists and loose ends u don’t even realize are loose she finds incredible, intricate ways to tie into her stories. I hate people who say her stories are just smut, as it rly isn’t true, and if u think that, u likely haven’t acc read her books or u just went into them with ur own negative, maybe even misogynistic, opinions abt sjm and wanted to critique her whenever u could. And for the people who critique her writing to excess, why don’t u read something like that book by Kendall and Kylie Jenner and then come back and try being negative abt sjm’s writing? As far as I’m concerned, she has some flaws, she isn’t perfect, but nobody is. However, she has an amazing love for her books, her characters, and just what she does as a career in general. So no, she isn’t flawless, she makes mistakes, and she has faults; however that would be describing anyone and everyone. There is no such thing as a perfect human being, but saying that sjm writes pure smut and has no plot in her books is a complete and utter lie that confuses ppl and makes them hesitant to read an amazing book they could rly end up loving and finding comfort in. Anyway, that’s the end of my spiel, but for anyone who’s unsure abt reading the book since it’s described as hardcore smut by ppl who don’t know what they’re talking abt, I definitely recommend it and hope u enjoy it! ❤❤❤
@alannapenner379 ай бұрын

@angelapiccolo27511 ай бұрын
SJM is my favorite author and the reason is because she is character driven, you viscerally feel for the characters that the plot is secondary. They become so real in your mind that you will cry with them and laugh with them etc. She also is good for slow burn romances so by the time you get to smutty sex scenes, they feel earned and realistic. I don't mind your critique but if you read Chapter 54 (the one right before the sex scene) there is literally Rhys entire story from start to finish, you could read just that chapter and know exactly what happened.
