Good thing about going through a massive smear campaign from these people is you no longer care about looking good cuz you understand that they've completely ruined your reputation and it's just not even worth it to try to convince people or defend yourself or whatever. So it pretty much fress you of not worrying what people think of you anymore. And it also makes you understand that if people who've known you for years were so willing to believe the lies in the smear campaign that you don't need those people around you anyway.

Unfortunately, infidelity tends to go hand in hand with narcissism. Especially, somatic narcissism. Narcissists believe EVERYTHING they need is external, including self-worth, self-esteem, validation, etc. Those things are what make up our inner world and we are supposed to develop and cultivate them within/on our own. Narcissists DEPEND on people to supply those things for them. Because we cannot (nor, are we supposed to) supply every want/need of a partner, narcissists are always on the lookout for "better supply". They will always gravitate toward anyone they feel can meet the needs/wants their spouse isn't (and can't). Narcissists are unstable and they cannot soothe themselves. They cannot meet their own needs and their needs/wants are constantly changing. Narcissists are black holes. They are human abyss' of unmet needs/wants. Even if you gave them everything, they'd still want MORE... All while giving NOTHING in return. Narcissists are also pathologically bored. They do not experience boredom the way normal adults do. They're like children. Once they become bored, they tend to throw their toys (people) in a corner to collect dust. Then, they search for new ones... Untilllll, they realize that their newest toy isn't as fun. Or, it doesn't function as well as the old toy did. Then, they'll go digging in the corner to find that old toy (the reason their relationships tend to be off and on). People are objects meant to keep them occupied and entertained. The newer the toy, the better/more exciting it is. However, EVERYONE will inevitably lose their shine with the narcissist. You must accept their reality and realize that it's NOT ABOUT YOU and it never was. This is also the point when it becomes crucial to sit your ego on the curb. Your ego will want to fight to be seen. Your ego will want to fight to prove you're enough. Your ego will feel it's "worthy" of the narcissist and fight to "keep" them... But, again: IT'S NOT ABOUT YOU. Most narcissists are extremely irresponsible. Many of them marry to secure stability. Or, to have someone they can count on to help with bills to free up their resources. It also ensures they'll have somewhere safe to land when they fall - because they always f*** up... Do yourself a favor and pull that rug of security out from under them and save YOURSELF. Narcissists do not have a moral compass. They do not respect the union of marriage. It'll always be a one-sided arrangement with you being the giver that's making their life easier and them being the taker that's making your life harder. We deserve the same love, attention, support and understanding that we give our spouses. You will never get it from someone suffering with NPD. Moreover, if you feel sure that your husband might never cheat on you, you might have to rethink. Most wives in marriages are shocked when they find out their husband cheating, and it happens more with people who never thought they would cheat. This is why you have to take the tiniest suspicion carefully. If your husband is cheating on you, the best and probably the only guaranteed way to catch him is to spy on their phones. However, spying on a phone is not something you can do without any external help unless you have the James bond level of spy skills. i have a sister who is the covert narcissist, she calls herself an introvert and yet says everything about her life on social media, she goes on retreats with monks, always telling people how good she is, how nice she is, does spiritual outings and according to her she is sooo good at it that she finishes the program earlier than expected. Everything is about her, she lies, manipulates, gaslights and then is always the victim. She tries to change family dynamics and history to fit her victim persona. If you dare confront her she becomes, nasty and vindictive. She holds grudges and tries to get revenge with threats and telling people SHE IS THE TRUTH TELLER. She is a piece of work and we no longer talk, I have completely gotten her out of my life.

My mother was a Queen Narcissist Witch and it's all I can do to learn to recognize and avoid these types years and years later. As soon as I meet one, I want them to "like me" and I will do almost anything to try and make that happen (of course it won't, but that doesn't mean I don't keep trying!). So very true. The accuracy and realism in the way you described covert narcissists sends chills down my spine. This is exactly how I felt and what I experienced with these grotesque monsters. If you get close enough and spend time with them long enough, you'll know that these beings are sick to their core, untreatable and incurable. I was unlucky enough to learn that in a hard way. Reliving those icky feelings of abuse makes me want to vomit.

Just move on... Finally said my final goodbye to my "mom" it is the most painful thing but also one of the most healing things I've ever done for myself. having a funeral for my "mother" that is still very much alive. Her final act of making me feel insane but forced to be done at my own hand... plausible deniability for her...again... it's impossible to process so many conflicting emotions all at the same time especially when the source of all this chaos and insanity is the one person who is supposed to love me the most... her stealthiest most covert move yet... so masterfully manipulative that it's almost impressive but it's so incredibly painful to be in awe of it. my mom wants to destroy me just because she can... since I've had a funeral for her and her main flying monkey my "father" somehow i know things will eventually be okay for me... don't know when or how yet but i just can finally feel a small shift in the power she has always had over me. Reality does truly bite sometimes but at least reality can be dealt with as it is what it is... that she can't change and can do nothing about. I have some power now just don't really know what to do with it completely.. it still hurts too much to focus on for very long but I will get there in time.

My ex narcissist oscillated between grandiose and covert. That should be talked about more. That’s what is so confusing. You think they can have arrogance at times but yet they have a good heart because they want to help others, so you overlook the grandiosity thinking they are really a good person deep down. Ugh… I went through the ringer. 💯 passive aggressive and competitive. They do want yo be better than their partner. They don’t want you to be happy or have any good things happen to you. So they really do want to win.

@Rebecca Zung You are an angel! Thank you for all of your hard work & videos in helping victims of narc abuse. Kicked my covert narc husband out 3 days ago! It hurts but I suddenly was able to see all the lying, manipulation & control tactics which had been going on. We’ve been married 5 years & symptoms worsened in the last 8 weeks & exploded over the last week. He is also bipolar who is not taking his meds & a marijuana addict. He has reverted to his old habits I have now discovered which caused us to separate 3 years ago & almost divorced. He promised me when we got back together he would forever be a team player in our marriage & make his mental health a priority. As of now, he has told me his word meant nothing. I think he thought he had me by being able to stay in my house & do what he pleases while he’s been out running around & I’m pretty sure he met someone over the weekend because his discard of me was sudden & he became very verbally abusive telling me he can’t wait to get away from me, we’re not married, I’m crazy everyone knows it. The standard discard tactics. Thank God this drama, trauma, & chaos, especially over the last 8 weeks, has come to an end. The hardest part is being schooled enough on their tactics to be able to see clearly enough to navigate as they ‘muddy the waters.’ Your videos help clean the swamp they’ve created! Thank you again!

Some days I suffer with a lot of grief as if I’m mourning for a loved one that died. I think I’m reconciling with myself on the cognitive dissonance ie: what I thought we were & shared vs what we really were to him which was something easily discardable. I found a video he posted June 1st under his name on KZbin where he’s speaking to someone specifically & then says love you & blows kisses….I mean we’ve been separated a month! Now, I’m trying to find him to have the divorce papers served! I know it’ll get better just can’t believe I trusted him! I’ve got to do better protecting myself in the future from these toxic people. This is my covert narcissist Father. I finally got away from him permanently……and then when my daughter turned 18 and we were going through the tough years, he swooped in and bought her a new car and payed for her insurance etc and asked her to come live with him ( he has money), so she did and there was nothing I could do because she was 18. He has since brainwashed her against me and she hasn’t spoken to me in years. She is now 24. I’ve written several letters but nothing. I don’t know what to do. I am devastated and heartbroken. ​@@CynthiaSchoenbauer : best thing I ever did was NEVER "ask" them for anything, but figure out how to get it for myself (very difficult on minimum wage as a single mother in the beginning, but somehow I did it). My husband contributed practically NOTHING to our family so again I had to learn how to "double my income" overnight. Then he started taking that too. Now he pays his bills and I pay mind and he doesn't touch a penny of what I earn (but don't think he doesn't still try). Separate bank accounts and more. Best way to live for sure, no matter how much or how little I may have. I have had to learn to "just say no" to any manipulation or financial crisis" he would cook up and make ME responsible, but those games don't work anymore. Hahahahaa! Good luck and never give up and never give in!
