I was thinking about the colors, how it must be difficult to meet the customer's expectations and get a look that matches the fish as it was when freshly pulled from the water. My dad had a bass he caught mounted so I've always been curious about this process since childhood. Thank you for sharing!

Must have been blanched and brined to make the fish skin toughened. The actual work must be even harder than it looks. There’s got to be an easier way. He may be the last person in the world doing taxidermy in this fashion. It’s unreal. True respect for fish. This is why Japanese quality is #1. Nobody can compete.

Beautiful! I'm inspired to try this on one of my own fish I catch one day. Do or have you ever left a skin natural and not painted it? how is the result if you have? I could guess its slightly duller and less vivid. Fantastic thankyou 🙏💙

All the effort is obviously amazing The final result however looks so artificial, that I don't understand why to use a real fish in the first place. All the structure of the skin is gone. Just painting a plastic fish would yield the same result and be much easier
