Gustave has a wounded right shoulder so it is possible that he isn't as mobile as other crocodiles of a similar size. EDIT: A documentary about Gustave stated that Crocodiles can go several months with out eating leaving him plenty of time to select his prey carefully.
@tanagunda13683 жыл бұрын
Most crocs at his size definitely suffer from the mobility side, him getting shot in the shoulder doesn’t affect his speed
@pokemon5678ification3 жыл бұрын
@@tanagunda1368 True but I said he isn't as mobile as other crocodiles of a similar size. In other words your comment implies that an animal that RUNS ON ALL FOURS would not be slowed down by a wounded right shoulder. In the water it wouldn't matter because he wouldn't be moving his right shoulder, but on land it would affect both his speed and how long he can run for. His limited mobility means he has to pick his prey carefully or he could further injure his right shoulder.
@tanagunda13683 жыл бұрын
@@pokemon5678ification actually no it’s not about him using his right shoulder but crocs have very very thick putter skin and also they heal very very well all he has is just a scar but that bullet joke and the others don’t affect his mobility on land or in water, their anatomy isn’t the same as other mammals... so he is very much okay
@pokemon5678ification3 жыл бұрын
@@tanagunda1368 If it were just a scar then there would be no reason to call it a wound so the wound might be big enough to cause some discomfort and/or pain and if it is big enough to be called a wound then it cause some mobility issues.
@tanagunda13683 жыл бұрын
@@pokemon5678ification but they didn’t say it was a wound they said he was wounded...also I am saying this because when he was dragging people and killing them he already had gotten the gun shot (which isn’t the only one btw) he had no mobility issues nor was he in pain, like I said crocs heal differently from us, a gun shot that isn’t fatal is nothing to them, it heals up and they move on... also using the word wound doesn’t mean literally a lot of people mix it up with the word scar since they are similar...

There was a documentary about Gustav and they videoed a huge Nile Crocodile one day. What was so crazy about the croc they videoed, I am not sure that it was Gustav even with them saying it was. But this crocodile was very large and the one animal that crocs are scared of, its hippos. Well this croc was right smack dabbed in the middle of their territory. The hippos usually chase off crocs if they get to close. Well not this crocodile. They gave him a preety wide girth. It was like Moses parting the Red Sea. There was also a movie about this crocodile and it was an ok movie. Its called Primeval and it started Brooke Langton and Dominic Parcell. I don't think ever really showed the crocodile. Shortly after the release of the movie, it was reported that he had been shot and killed.

@Slicer1475 Жыл бұрын
@@rianmela3825 we're talking about the average human. Intelligence has decreased and it's showing. The amount of people that get gored or maimed just for a photo op is astounding, and that's from animals that are considered prey. And a kangaroo isn't an apex predator, that's why a punch can and has deterred one from attacking. They also don't hunt things for food on a daily basis like a croc or any predator because again, it's not a predator. Which goes to show you've proven my point of what I first said in this reply. Why don't you go out and try to go hand to hand with a predatory animal and not one that mostly rummages for food? I'd love to see how long you'd survive; which I guarantee it wouldn't be long. Those people don't use firearms because they're mostly not available to them, so you wouldn't be able to rely on those for protection like people who have the luxury of doing so. Bows and arrows, knives, farming equipment and whatever else is laying around are your options. I guarantee if you put people from a first world society into a region like that with only what those people use and have available, the death count would be much much higher than what it is with just those people alone when encountering apex predators like a croc.

These were scientists trying to catch the crocodile? Did it ever occur to them to disturb the water, which is what prey animals, pets, livestock, and humans do that attracts crocodiles?
@solaridraconi62252 жыл бұрын
Well... Doesn't look like it. Apparently they never thought of that, as the only time one of their bait went missing is when the cage got into the water, which should have given them that idea, really. Seems none of the traps were actually made to conform to a croc's hunting style. Just... Put easy prey or food somewhere near water, wait for croc to show up. They are aquatic predators, not land predators. And ambush predators too. They find things that are disturbing the water and attack them, because they are close enough to get quickly with a powerful bite. On land, crocodiles lose against far smaller predators who can just outmanouver them, jump on their back and start carving out chunks of them.

Gustave didn't killed 300 people. There was only around 60 cases reported, not 300. Someone exaggerated the number cause wanted so bad Gustave to being caught.

Why do people try and act as if they truly know why an animal may act in a given situation?. Most people survive attacks because they might fight back or someone else is around to help. Sharks don't know or care if you're a seal or a person. It's all just food to them.
