Who doesn't like the theme from Evangelion? Before Netflix and other streaming media services we had to watch it either on TV, one episode at a time, or in video cassettes, in which you couldn't skip it, and, as a result, a song as catchy as this would be burned so much into your brain you would've been able to sing it in your mother tongue and the Japanese original, even though none of us spoke Japanese (unquestionably, the song is much better in it).
Years later I thought it had a fantastic bass line - followed the vocals and was very chopped up, very rhythmic and even percussive. I first learned it against my Nemesis, in our ongoing TV themes war, but it stuck and I've been wanting to play the full thing ever since. I was of two minds on what to do on the middle part, the break with the synths. I went for a simple tapping section, which none the less I thought it turned out pretty cool.
