Video Notes: -Two of my miters have a slight gap on the lid. This was most likely due to too much glue in the joint and nowhere for the glue to go when I clamped the box together. Assuming the inside corners contacted first when the box was clamped. -I should have used darker spline material as a black line would probably have been more visible in the end. In that case I would have used walnut for the interior liner. -Article for this video: jayscustomcreations.com/2018/01/curly-hickory-tiny-spline-mitered-box/ -Dozuki Z Saw used to cut spline kerf: amzn.to/2DUfE9z -Tools in my shop: jayscustomcreations.com/home/tools-resources/

Why did you want your Splines to be soooo thin? A thin table saw blade would’ve been too thick? Nonetheless, the box turned out great. Thanks for sharing.

My boss had a floor installed, of replaned century old oak barn wood. I collected some scraps to make a box for his birthday next month so I’m watching vids to learn how to do it. This is the best one so far, in doing everything I planned to do with my wood. Thanks so much; the lining was something I had not thought of. I was going to router the box and lid to fit the lid. This is a much smarter idea.

One of my favorite projects you've done Jay. Loved the moment when you put the lid on after installing the liners and it slowly, gently slid down on its own, the air pressure slowing the lid's descent because of the near perfect fit. Videography was top notch as well as always.
