A Dangerous Photoshoot

Here's my entry to the 2015 Saxxies and also my first ever short with characters that I've made! It's my first step in increasing my toolset and I'm real excited!
This was made using the Source 2 SFM. It took about one month for me to learn and create the character models with Maya and another month for the actual creation of the video.

Wasn't there a Best Original Universe category in the 2012 Saxxy awards? I heard that barely anyone made any entries for it, so they just gave the one entry the Saxxy on the spot. I know this because I actually met this person who got said Saxxy back in 2012. Unfortunately I don't have the screenshot of it anymore, but it makes me wish they'd add this category back into the Saxxys, I'd love to see some OU stuff

Very impressive work! Definitely going to win the original entry short for saxxies. Has an interesting stylization and uniqueness to it, and loving the heavy use of fog. Movements were solid overall, and the environment destruction was great to see.

Very nice work, I'd say. On the subject of your character, there was a lot of clipping with her cape, and the lack of textures on her make her look a bit flat, but the design of her is awesome. Very simple, limited color palettes work very well in animation, and here's a great example of it. Looks great in the snow, too. The way you proportioned her out was stellar as well, with her visual mass, made up of her arms and the poncho thing, on top and the spindly flamingo legs on the bottom. I think it gives her a light, floating quality that's well contrasted by the massively geometric Titan thing. I've always loved clean character designs, and it's so nice to see someone lean towards a crisp, memorable design as opposed to something that's just "cool" or "popular." Keep up the good work. I ramble, but as I say, clean designs make me happy. The short was good, I thought, but I actually thought the character designs were better than the short itself, if you don't mind me saying so. :)

If wish her face texture had a tad more detail to it. Not too much, but you know, a bit more pink on the nose, darker neck etc. she looks a little uncanny in some shots. The animation more then makes up for it though. Hats off!

The walk in the first shot with the girl was a bit off, but honestly i wouldn't be able to do better, Casual walks are a pain in the ass. But other than that, i absolutely loved it.
