I am an Australian whose grandfather fought at Gallipoli and survived that. He was then transferred to the Western Front in World War 1 and survived that. He was one of the lucky ones to come home to Australia. I am the son of a World War 2 veteran, the Korean War and the Malayan Conflict. Their upbringing was to serve and defend our King and Queen and Country. I too was raised the same. I am astonished at where my country's values have drifted to now. I wondered whether their sacrifices were worth it. Your song Tears from Heaven summed up my thoughts on the situation perfectly. This follow up song is fantastic in the way you are conveying a message. Your songs and work is a wakening call for all citizens to remember the sacrifices of our Veterans. I salute you for your good work.

My grandfather was born in 1878. His dad died a out the same time as he was born. Aged 2 he and his elder brother were both staying with different governesses in Norwich, while there mother worked away as a nurse. When the mother returned to Norwich, she was often on the church poor list. In the 1901 census, he was living in Southward with his brother and sister in law, their mother had remarried to a much younger man, they had another child and emigrated to Canada. In 1908 he married my grandmother. In the 1911 census they were living in 1 room with his mil and 2 children 3 & 2. In September 1918 he died in France. He had a hard life.

Lyrics to Daddy, Why Did You Go Verse 1 I remember that day, when you knelt by my side, A soldier's goodbye, with a tear in your eye. You kissed me so soft, said you’re fighting for me, To keep me safe, to protect our country. With dreams in your heart, you walked out the door, I didn’t know I wouldn’t see you no more. [Chorus] The freedom you fought for feels like a lie, In a country where justice has gone awry. Our streets aren't safe, our culture's torn, And I wonder why I was ever born. Why did you go? Why did you die? Was it worth it? Was it worth the lie? Verse 2 You fought in a war, in a land far away, To battle the darkness, to keep it at bay. But now that same shadow has crept in so near, And I fear for my children, who are living in fear. The country you left feels distant and cold, In a world where the stories of heroes go untold. [Chorus] The freedom you fought for feels like a lie, In a country where justice has gone awry. Our streets aren't safe, our culture's torn, And I wonder why I was ever born. Why did you go? Why did you die? Was it worth it? Was it worth the lie? Verse 3 You missed the day that I was wed, The tears of joy that should’ve been shed. Your empty seat, a painful sight, As I walked down the aisle in a dress of white. You never got to hold my hand, Or see your granddaughter take her first stand. You never got to see your granddaughter's birth, Or feel the love she brought to this earth. She never sat on Grandad’s knee, Or listened to your bedtime story. Bridge I think of you and the life you gave, As you lie alone in a forgotten grave. In this world where trust has gone, I question now, what went so wrong? The battles you fought, they echo in vain, In a country that’s forgotten your struggle and pain. [Chorus] The freedom you fought for feels like a lie, In a country where justice has gone awry. Our streets aren't safe, our culture's torn, And I wonder why I was ever born. Why did you go? Why did you die? Was it worth it? Was it worth the lie? Outro Was it worth it? I wonder still, In a country that bends to another’s will. Was it worth it? Was it worth your life, For a country now torn by endless strife? The tears I shed won’t bring you back, In a country that’s lost its moral track.

Sorry just saw the picture for your vid why o why do you insist on constantly including the American flag a good many Americans do not regard you as well as you ike to think. They have their problems like we have ours. Their is very little if anything they can do for you only we can address our problems in a way suitable for our situation even if they disapprove for god's sake man up and stop grovelling to America who may in fact bare a great deal of responsibility for our current predicament.
@We_Are_True_Patriots2 ай бұрын
we are responsible for our own decisions, and believe it or not many American people are facing exactly what we are facing just as many Europeans are to, this shit show has been caused by globalist politicians.
@fus149hammer52 ай бұрын
If you ignore the repugnant political angle the american soldiers are our brothers in arms. We train together, operate together and our military systems are irrevocably intertwined. Most GI's come from the same backgrounds as our squaddies and have the same thoughts and dreams as ours. Yes there is rivalry, banter and an assumption of superiority on both sides but there is also great respect. They have obviously a much bigger military ability but we do more with less. If you aren't from a military background and haven't served amongst the finest fighting men on the planet that is 🇬🇧🇺🇲 you really don't know what you're talking about.
