My daughter lives in Vancouver and I used to love to visit her there. When she first moved there to attend UBC in 2016, Vancouver was such a beautiful city! Clean and with so much to offer. Now I really dread going there. The streets smell of pee and homelessness is out of control. It is a shame what happened to this beautiful city and other West Coast cities. I was in Seattle 2 summers ago and it was the same. It is a shame!

Was stationed on Naval base 2 hrs south of Vancouver. I would go there every chance I could it was such a beautiful place with nice people. I've always dreamed of living in such a place. Praying things change everywhere and fast. 🙏

My brother (may he r.i.p.) lived on the street for a few years, and this tears my heart out. Fortunately, he was not drug addicted, he was mentally ill, and he did eventually get help and become more stable. (He even got married!) But this??This is worse. Each of these human beings is an individual, has a story, a family, a soul. How can this be happening on such a large scale? How can we be failing so many of our fellow Canadians? What can be done?? This is devastating. God have mercy.

I'm an addict,and have seen a lot of changes over the years.but after fentynal took over,the scene completely changed.you never saw people bent over for 10 hrs straight in one spot.luckily I got clean right before it changed from heroin to fentynal.I know that I did try fentynal because the high didn't last 8-10hrs like heroin would.plus the consistency of the dope completely changed,and was next to impossible to snort.I never liked shooting up anything,so when I got help it was the perfect time.now I've been clean 8yrs in November.I have to admit I'm in a suboxone program,but it was either be in a MAR program,or die!!easy choice to make!

I live in South Africa, a third world country with many many problems, but the amount of highly drugged people on the streets is shocking, even for Africa's standards. Thought USA or Canada were great countries, but this shows something else - maybe in your smaller rural towns its better.

Comparatively...to Kensington..these folks are doing slightly better...in slightly nicer surroundings, so my guess is theirchances of surviving might be a little bit higher. These are people! Это потому что у нас был СССР где государство выдавала людям квартиры и участки под дачу. А количество берущих жильё в кредит и снимающих жильё растёт, значит в будущем вырастит количество бездомных. Какая разница пьяные бомжи будут или под солью. К тому же они просто выделили улицу им. А не вся страна такая, у них вообще в процентном соотношении лиц употребляющих тяжёлые наркотики, намного меньше, как и пьющих если ты не знал. Там люди в основном просто траву курят. Но она намного дороже чем синтетика, потому бомжи употребляют синтетику.
