I also find that your videos give me courage. I often get stalled because it's not perfect, despite hearing you often saying not to worry about it. Your "nice mess" often turns into something marvelous. I just have been stalled for two weeks now. Your video has given me a fresh dose of courage. Headed back to my easel this evening. Excited again.

👋First things first, Stuart, you've painted a very interesting and very beautiful "beachscape". I love it. - Secondly, you asked about the meaning of ebb and flow, Stuart. Low tide (ebb) means that the water is drawn back into the sea, high tide (flow) means that it comes back to the shore. (I guess you knew that) - And third, I talk to myself all the time, not only when painting. But I don't hear voices 🙃 My dog keeps thinking, who is she talking to ?! Someone once said that he who talks to himself has discovered his inner self. So don't worry, it's not a sign of any brain disease ☺ it's rather a sign of intelligence. - The sky looks fantastic with these well done clouds, they make half of the movement in this gorgeous artwork. The other half I give to the waves which you depicted beautifully, running onto the beach. The chalk cliffs speak for themselves - magnificent ! In addition, this painting has a very good three-dimensionality.💖Thank you, Stuart, I wish you well, have a good week. - Beautiful cat !💖

Got some ideas now, and I'll move on to the next dramatic change. Thanks for that. Also note, I was finally able to get my hands on some Payne's Grey. I'm so amazed at what a great blue-grey this is. After the initial scraping, the painting took on the appearance of a scene out of a Cecil B. DeMille movie! You are obviously good at creating drama, whether intentionally or not, LOL! I am wondering if there would be a way to create a support frame to attach to the easel to prevent larger boards or canvas from wobbling? Perhaps one of your viewers know and could share? Thank you Stuart, I enjoy every single one of your videos!

What is wild is that the water during tide us actually being pulled toward the moon so that is y the water is receding making the ocean a bit deeper. So we say it gets lower but it actually just pools in a smaller area then when the moon goes to the other side it raises back up and envelopes more lade as the stress of the gravity lessens of so little and the water rises again yet it is actually a bit less shallow. Kinda great when you think of it.

Very instructive as always, Stuart. My only comment and I say this because my own painting of the white cliffs of Dover is currently irritating me, is that the sea sand should be a little less yellow ochre and a bit more light brown/beige plus yelliw ochre. Its a bit too startling. 😊😁

Question Stuart. What is your best suggestion for a person to use when they don't have photographic memory like you have? I would really like to see you start using the Liquin as I have had some problems with it. They have a thing called a Paint Tube Wringer that squeezes all the paint out. It is a wonderful gadget. You can use it for toothpaste or any tube. 🌹

Good evening! I’ve been interested in painting for years and after finding your channel i finally went out and got all the necessary items need to begin painting. I’m having a hard time with the consistency of my paint, having enough to cover the desired area. I have multiple mediums and and happy to make mistakes and honestly am enjoying just sitting in front of the canvas and painting but I was hoping you might have some insight into mixing paint with medium and how much paint you actually use for a painting (give or take)

One of the issues I've found when I paint cliffs such as these, I end up with a lot of "stripes" down the side of the hill. NO NO NO. So, I have to do the angled swipes that give the feel of wild stone with water that carved it.

My son sent me a photo of a mountain in the Rockies of Colorado. The photo is taken from 11000 feet up at a 14 000 foot peak. The shadows are so deep and impenetrable that I can only use black to paint them. I have not yet been successful at getting the reality of the shadows. My daughter, the painter, has suggested that I need to be sure the contrast with white/gray will accentuate the black. However, you should know that this is VERY different from your wonderful cliffs here. VERY different overall and in specific ways. No chalk, it's just all rock, rock, rock. Harsh, dramatic, hard to paint. Hmmm
