Hiiii! The sun has almost come back to us here in the North and I can finally start showing you the beauty of this arctic island - in daylight! In today's video we hike a mountain, and I show you what to wear when winter hiking :)

I had the most amazing pleasure of visiting Longyearbyen 3 years ago to take part in an Arctic training expedition. It was love at first site! I have been trying to find reasons to go back ever since, but family life, work and covid have got in the way. I even wrote to the local hospital (which I had visited) to ask if they needed a nurse, thinking perhaps I could do a month here and there for them if they were ever stuck. I am a Canadian nurse but live in the uk. I love, love, love your videos. Watching them make me happy after a long day at work. xx

Cecilia, I love your channel with Christopher and Grimm! I have a dutch shepherd that I treat the same way as you treat Grim (Hogan is my puppers). Whenever I don't feel like taking him for a walk to the dog park in the cold, I think of how you guys take Grimm out and then fight off polar bears! Then I psych myself up with "If Cecilia can do it with Grimm in the cold, I can suck it up and take Hogan". We get our walk in and everybody is happy. I also love your beautiful cabin, your life on Svalbard. Your videos make me happy!

My grandfather was from Farvang. Through you I have fallen in love with Longyearbyen/Svalbard. I cannot say thank you enough for introducing me to this part of the earth. You are a gracious hostess. There are no words to describe how beautiful the colors of the sky look next to the fresh snow on the mountains. I'm hoping to get a Svalbard trip planned soon and I can't wait to see the amazing things you've shown in your videos. Also, Grim is the most precious little floof. I used to hike in my youth often since I live near the mountains in Bavaria. Now iI am 79 and not so fit any more, so I chanched to E-bike😊. Love every video you put out. Love to film and vlog myself!

Thank for another breathtakingly beautiful video and thank you for confirming what I have been telling people for years (and I always get a crazy look in response) : cover your head and your neck to prevent getting sick. It's as simple as that and I know what I am talking about, living in Quebec where winters are harsh and cold. These days, Svalbard is warmer than Quebec!

Beautiful sky view over the bay👍. Here in Stockholm area the past weeks of winter just melted away last week end. So now all is back to greyish colors again.
