Next time through, you might check out the natural bridge (longest natural bridge east of the Mississippi). It's off US 278 south of Haleyville. And nearby is the Houston County log cabin jail. We also found the covered bridge on accident on the way home after visiting the aforementioned. Our paths will cross day. We start full timing next spring, and US 60 is our favorite route to Kansas (bride's family). Wife saw you on a trip last summer, you were headed westbound, my wife east on US 60.

We know people that have a Boondockers Welcome site about half an hour from Hidden Cove TT, or for people who are not TT members. They are great people former FT'ers, Also they took us to The Hounddog Cemetery, and Helen Keller birth place, Alabama Music Hall of Fame, all really cool

Todd, you definitely needed to give a closer hint for the “Don’t loose your balance” adventure like you did on this one. I hiked up the bluff to the top and searched for 2 hours. I could not find the bolder with the big V shaped notch with a tree and roots in front of it. All the rocks started to look alike! My legs are so sore from the climb up but it was nice to finally get the motorcycle out of the garage for the 2.5 hour ride there.

As you were talking about the Monks something came to mind. I don't know much about their lives; this came to mind. If you really never spoke a word for many years and was required to say something, would your vocal cords still work? Would there be the muscle strength or control be there to produce words? Any speech pathologists?

Left Hidden Cove this morning... Visited both Ave Maria and the Clarkson Covered Bridge yesterday. Wish the video had posted earlier. We definitely would have found the adventure sticker as we crossed the bridge and I remember the colored post. Another nice attraction in the area is the Northern Alabama Natural Bridge (Natural Bridge Park) 45 minutes west of the campground. Hidden Cove is definitely nice, especially the newer section with full hookups. But it is in the sticks :).....
