First comments, long time viewer. Appreciate all your work you do on presenting the backcountry of Hawaii. Been over to visit 4 times in the last two years and as much as you have inspired me I’m yet to do a ridge line trail. Thankfully I have had the good fortune to complete the Kalalau trail, Haleakala Crater from summit to the rainbow bridge, Halawa Valley on Molokai, love the channel!!

Mahalo Larry for being a loyal follower. It means a lot to me that people like you watching my videos and they get inspired. I always want to present the real Hawaii wilderness to you and the viewers. It is great that you have been able to backpack Kalalau and Haleakala, those are sone of the best backpacking trips you can do in Hawaii. Molokai is a special places too🤙🏻⛰️🌈

Another fantastic hike. I've done Mauʻumae Ridge up to Lanipō but never crossed that section of the KST. I'll try your approach once the weather improves, it's a little too windy and wet right now. Keep the videos coming. Mahalo.

Thank You Adrian! I really like that you writing the Hawaiian names of the trails and peaks here. 🤙🏻 wait until weather gets better for a better experience!

Looks like a great hike. Once you get to the ridge on the Wiliwili trail (and ignore the sign) do you hike the ridge toward Ka'a creator to get to Lanipo Peak?
@HungaroExplorer7 ай бұрын
Yes, you have to take the ridge towards Ka’au Crater. You will start crosiing towards those big electric lines, they even have some ropes to help you for part of the way.

Nice work!! Great video! I actually hit this one yesterday from Mau’umae trailhead. It was rainy and cloudy like normal. That last exposed traverse over to Pu’u Lanipo is legit and not for the faint of heart, especially as that wind is kicking around!
@HungaroExplorer7 ай бұрын
Thanks Paul! Yepp, Mau’umae is another good ridge to access it, glad you like the trip. Yeah, that crossover to Lanipo is fun 😄🤙🏻
