Hello there, I am a new CNA & GNA graduate. I graduated last Friday (June 2). On June 19, I will begin my journey as a PCT on the Med Surg - Oncology floor. I am super excited. Also, in the spring 2024 semester, I will start my nursing program. I'm excited for that as well. Great video.

You're lucky you have only one binder to fill out. The assisted living facility I work at has several binders labeled for different things.

I have run late forever….I hate it, I’m told it’s part of my ADD. I had a patient tell me to put a click in my bathroom as that seems to be where we women lose the most track of time.

Correct me if I’m Wrong.. assisted living: you only having independents, u get paid less, the pay is biweekly?
@diamondtiera962 жыл бұрын
You have a mixture of independent residents and residents that need more help, the pay depends on the facility..you get paid more if you are a registered nursing assistant or a certified nursing assistant and the pay schedule will also depend on location but yes it is usually biweekly

Hi i am a homecare aide. I use to be a CNA. I do not like working with people especially females, they can make your work life stressful and working at facilities, hospitals, nursing homes they can give you to many clients to care for. I do 1 on 1 and its way better and less stress.

When patient refused shower do you get in trouble. What if they don't shower for 6 months?
@diamondtiera963 жыл бұрын
We don’t get in trouble per se we do document that they refused and notify the nurse. If it’s to an excessive point the nurse should be notified and in some cases the family as well (they can help motivate the resident to shower) having the family in the loop also helps with neglect/malpractice cases. *this is just my understanding of how this process works*
@PrincessC23 жыл бұрын
Exactly, we are not allowed to force the patient to take a shower or a bath against their wish. We just document and notify the nurse regarding the patient’s decision.

I am a cna and work in memory care. It’s kind of frustrating when the residents don’t want to shower. We don’t get in trouble but we kind of get the “side eye” if we say the resident refused. Sometimes we ask them a few times or get someone else to ask them to shower. But we are on a tight schedule so sometimes you just gotta except that they don’t want a shower and move on to the next. We have to document that they refused and let the nurse know. It’s a challenging job but very rewarding. Just don’t get intimidated and keep going forward. Do your best and that’s all you can do.

The cna work sounds a lot of physical work. Do you someone who's petite and 4'9 tall can be a cna?
@diamondtiera962 жыл бұрын
It really just depends on the person and what you’re able to handle, make sure you’re using good body mechanics though for sure!
@shikha52465 ай бұрын
I’m 5 “2” or less and there’s just some people I can’t roll yet. I’ve improved by using the dumbbell weights once a week. Don’t over do weights cause you’re already working out as a cna. There’s a certain way to transfer/roll without using all of your strength..a seasoned cna showed me some tricks and ways once she had more time during the 2nd week. Ask for help if you absolutely can’t do it on your own yet…at the end of the day they have to understand you’re new and still building that muscle…eat a lot of TRAIL MIX, peanuts almonds etc. heavy protein meal

Hi I’m also a Cna I’m just wondering how many patients do u have to care for at an Assisted living facility. Thanks for the video.
@diamondtiera962 жыл бұрын
At that facility it just depends, 10-15 and at least half are independent. I work in a hospital now and it’s typically 8-15 so roughly about the same.

Do you know anything about CBRF? Is it similar to CNA or does the duties and pay differ?
@diamondtiera962 жыл бұрын
What does CBRF stand for?
@iidava2220 Жыл бұрын
Actually it is pretty much but not all states require cbrf, but in some states cbrf is required and the duties are similar. Cbrf certified really just means you can administer medication meanwhile just basic cna can’t.

A care partner on my floor is assigned half the floor, which is 15 rooms but they’re not always occupied and they don’t all require assistance. Some of the residents are very independent.

Does assisted living work overnight? I want to work that shift.
@diamondtiera962 жыл бұрын
The assisted living facility that I work out is 24hrs the shifts are divided by 12 hours, 7am-7pm and then 7pm-7am. There are a few shifts in between that people can pick up from 7am-3pm and 3pm-11pm.
