I'm in Sussex and would charge £90.00 all in for the toilet job. I'm not VAT registered. No to altering the pipework to the cistern. I do a lot of concealed toilet jobs and it's very rare that I find the pipework clipped.

Superb video, superb content, full of tips to help us all out. I’ve never had to repair a toilet like that, that’s enclosed I’ve fitted one but it’s just the standard close coupled and others that I’ve fixed. It’s great to see how it’s done. Reg the pipework I prob would have thought about doing it a bit tidier as it would have bugged me being loose like that but in the end I would have left it as it is. It’s not old or corroded and that speed fit elbow looks ok. Like yourself I would have changed all the toilet innards. That flomaster flush pipe from screwfix is brilliant say its about £15 and fill valve £15 there’s £30 already plus fuel depending if they’re local or not so you could be talking another £10 for fuel and I’d have charged prob £50 for labour so approx £80 to £90 if I’m honest. I know I’m always ripping myself off so maybe I will watch your video on pricing. Great to know from the comments what other plumbers charge as it gives me a baseline . Thanks Luke

You're good on that toilet work, The inlet pipe was how you found it, and it wasn't the issue so return as is. As you had it, it was party to putting things back and a little pipe to make it up was no biggie. You was there to solve the issue, which was the flush valve, and it was economical to the customer to have a kit, sometimes cheaper than individual parts, replace both, for the long run. I would go for £100-£120, including the kit. If it was a case that the cistern was exposed, and the customer said if you could nice up the pipework to it because he or she didn't like it as it was, then that's an additional job,

Great video as usual bud, I prefer the brass shanks compared to the plastic one's all day. You completed the job that was originally requested problem sorted so don't worry about the pipe work it's like for like it's not leaking and it's out of sight (if it's not broke don't fix it). when I first started out I was charging £80 with materials but wasn't making any money really for the job, didn't really have any over head charges and was happy to be working... I increased it and I am glad to know that my pricing is more inline with the comments on here which has helped me to know I'm not ripping anyone off especially myself. Thank you for suggesting to share average charge and thank you to anyone who commented to confirm what they charge for this job much appreciated. Brilliant tip of how to re-hang the radiator that was originally there so it's inline with the existing valves, I remember this from one of your previous video and had the chance to use it a good few times now work's like a charm. I'm glad that loose valve didn't pop off on yah would have been a nightmare. Ace Video as always thanks again for taking the time to make them. 👊🏾

Really glad the tip with the radiator has helped mate 👍 yeah I think the more we share as tradesman the better, end of day there’s plenty of work out there and like you said we all know we are about the same price which was good to see, a few under that might help them being there price up and get business more money 👍

What I would of done with the cistern especially as you had to take it off because of no access to the internals , I would of powered it down and cut the the flush pipe. That way who ever goes to it next will be easier to remove the flush valve and fill valve. As for the pipework I'm in 2 minds I probably would of stuck a clip on it especially as I had disturbed it and really for peace of mind. But then that's me 🤷‍♂️ Great work as always 👏

Good vid again. I think you were being a hard on yourself with the flue install originally. Worcester state that standard horizontal flues can be installed level because the fall is built in. 3 degree rise is only needed with extensions. That said, they do tend to drip sometimes but you can always unclip the end and rotate it so it points upwards to stop drips. But good decision to alter it anyway, goes down well with the customer.

Why didn't you just flip the flue terminal end around 180 deg so that it was facing upwards? It would've prevented the fumes from firing at next doors window as well.
