Why would the blender not let through much hot water. You said its because you've got tank fed hot water plus mains cold? Could you just balance the blender to hot as possible then surely it would drain the storage heater?
@PlumbLikeTom3 ай бұрын
The blenders aren't really designed for really low pressure tank fed supplies, because they have a check valve inside, the gravity water doesn't open them so you get zero to no flow out the blender. Years ago the water heaters were just set to 41, so it didn't impose a scold risk but then people got paranoid about legionella, so they had to bet set to 60 and blender fitted. It's just one of them where the heaters should have been upgraded for everything to work safely and properly, thanks for watching as always

Just a question Tom, why did you install a TMV under the sink if the tap is a mixer. I just want to know, thank you
@chrismac77774 ай бұрын
The tap opened fully round to the left would provide unmixed hot water, therefore creating a scald risk without a TMV. Scald protection might be a requirement in some settings where there may be vulnerable people etc
@fumetsudragons4184 ай бұрын
@@chrismac7777 oh I see, thank you. but if you do have a mixer Tap does it fall into legislation still? to have a TMV?
@PlumbLikeTom4 ай бұрын
The tmv was spec'd on this job, It's not something you would normally have in a domestic dwelling for a basin but it's what they wanted, thanks for watching
@chrismac77774 ай бұрын
@@fumetsudragons418 Can't say for sure but I would assume so as basic mixer taps still provide a scald risk for vulnerable people in healthcare settings etc if the tap is opened unmixed on the hot side. Thermostatic Mixer Taps would be different as they blend the water inside the tap so a TMV on the supply pipe would be pointless in that situation.

8:31 Tom, how is this 90 degree elbow (15mm male to 15mm compression) called? I am stuck with my search on toolstation 88121 "Made4Trade Compression Elbow Chrome Plated 15mm", but it is not that....

Actually 10:42 gives a better view. I need something like it, but instead of push-fit, I need compression towards the copper pipe from the wall
