20:20 be glad you didn't have a trailer. They sent me there 2 weeks ago and that turn required tandems all the way up and you will miss the street sign on the inside of the turn by an inch.

Great video as always, first time commenting though. Been working on getting into trucking just had some medical hoops i had to jump through but i wasnt sure what company to go with in the midwest area and after finding your videos ive definitely leaned all the way towards Roehl.

@@bluegrassoutdoors Thank you! Things are going good so far. Just finished day 2. I got to hook up to a trailer, drive it around a little and do a straight back. It’s a LOT of information in a short time but I’ll get through it. Oh, and I got a bluegrass roommate from Shelbyville, Ky lol.

It’s a good job. But not to say it’s not challenging in many ways to say the least. Great channel you have . Even the non trucking content.

My dad was a trainer for Roehl for several years now hes doing target runs for a small company in southern wi and hes been driving since the 70s. IM 37 and plan on getting into trucking in the next few years and he said Roehl is one of the best. Im looking at doing the DairyLand route as im based in Wisconsin.

I live in Ky. Where is Roehl training at? Wait till you have a steer tire blowout 😬

Indiana is where I got my cdl. I think that is their closest terminal to Kentucky. Hopefully, I avoid the steer tires blowing altogether 😆

Low Tire Pressure can cause a tire to get hot and blow. Especially in hot weather... If you not that heavy, it's not kosher with DOT, but you can make it to the next exit by slowing down... I blew one before that took out an air bag and I drove about 40 miles at 40 mph.

@davidc.w.29088 ай бұрын
Make sure you do a good and full pre trip. You might have found that bad tire before pulling from that yard. Also keep track of the time it takes a third party to show up and replace or fix anything on your truck and trailer. The first two hours are on you, after that, you can claim breakdown pay at $15 an hour, claimed in increments of half hours, and only when it’s outside of a Roehl terminal. Whenever I hook onto another trailer, I do a full pre trip inspection on it. I have found over 50 tires in a year that required tire replacement. Up to 6 tires on a single trailer. If you do this do that, the blame might shift to you, or at least you’re the one waiting on the fix or replacement.

Hey buddy one question is the pay rate worth?
@bluegrassoutdoors8 ай бұрын
It's the main con of Roehl, in my opinion. I've averaged around $800-1000 per week, after taxes for the past 3 months
@obob35558 ай бұрын
@@bluegrassoutdoors ok, if i go otr you think i can make 1,500 after tax?
@bluegrassoutdoors8 ай бұрын
@obob3555 not with roehl at the beginning. I've been gone all week and bring home around $800-1000. But after 6 months you can become an owner operator or trainer and both of those raise your pay a lot. Once you get 3 months, 6 months and 1 year of experience, other companies will hire you. I'm going to a company next week where you can make $1500 a week after taxes.
